    IT Support Engineer Tier 1

    Responsibilities (not limited):

    • Ensures that deployments are completed timeously and without configuration error.
    • Adheres to release management guidelines.
    • Understands the scope or potential impact of deployment or support incident on various systems, and correctly involves other departments / customers as required.
    • Takes ownership of issues and problems and ensures that these are followed up and resolved.
    • Understands and complies with Derivco escalation procedures.
    • Resolves incidents and escalations ensuring that all issues are followed up on and resolved within set KPIs.
    • Exercises due diligence when working on environments, raising risks or concerns that affect systems health/performance.

    Requirements:

    • IT Diploma or relevant qualification.
    • IT experience and knowledge.
    • Track record of continuous learning.
    • Incident management.

    Data Support Services Engineer Level 3

    Responsibilities 

    • Maintain the performance of Internal and Production Database servers within company SLA. 
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, with an emphasis on effective communication, Route cause Identification and solution tracking. 
    • Routine Performance tuning of Database systems. 
    • Set and help maintain Database standards. 
    • Manage Database access and assist with developing processes for optimizing database security. 
    • Ensure all Database backup strategy meets the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) 
    • Create automation for repeatable, mundane Database tasks. 
    • Build, Configure, and Manage new Database Instances, including version Upgrades. 
    • Create and manage Database Projects, Reports and Documentation, visualizations, and dashboards when required. 
    • Review, recommend, and POC, with the chance of implementing emerging Database technologies. 
    • Scheduled Operational support (Hotseat), including after hours on-call support as required. 

     Qualifications & Experience 

    • We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in a DBA Engineer role, who has attained and advanced working knowledge of SQL Server and its methodologies. 
    • Computer Science degree and or MCSA/MCSE (SQL) accreditation. 
    • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement. 
    • Build processes supporting SQL Server Environments, there dependencies and workload management. 
    • A successful track record of Supporting and Managing SQL Server, including HA.  
    • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. 
    • Strong technical project management and organizational skills. 
    • Knowledge of Cloud computing/solutions.

    Total Remuneration Benchmarking & Analysis:

    • Participate in total remuneration surveys, model salary increases, collect internal and external data and conduct analyses to develop salary structures & ensure a competitive posture in the relevant market(s) both locally and internationally, and in line with company strategy and values/culture
    • Evaluate roles & prepares records of validity using established evaluation systems to provide a measurement tool for internal equity and external competitiveness.
    • Assist business leaders with goal/role clarification to support organizational effectiveness.

    Remuneration Philosophy & Policy:

    • Implement and monitor remuneration policies, systems and procedures to ensure a competitive posture in the relevant market(s) both locally and internationally, company values/culture are followed and legal compliance is maintained.
    • Assist in the development and review of policies, systems and procedures.

    Risk Management

    • Keep abreast of legislative requirements and/or best practices to highlight risks to the business and ensure compliance at all times.

    • Review work of junior team members to ensure continued growth and experience. Provides advice and training for the company and junior team members

    Skills we are after:

    • 5+ years experience in the Remuneration & Benefits field
    • Diploma/BCom degree and Global Remuneration Professional(GRP) certification(preferable)
    • Working knowledge of related legislation(e.g Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act)
    • High Attention to Detail
    • Be an analytical thinker and have numerical expertise
    • Client Focused, takes accountability and responsibility whilst being outputs focused
    • Have a track record of successfully designed, developed and implemented remuneration &benefits strategies, policies, processes and programs
