    Software Engineer in Test (SET/SDET), Secure:Static Analysis

    As a Software Engineer in Test at GitLab, you will be embedded in our Secure : Static Analysis group. You’ll be responsible for baking in a culture of quality and shifting test automation left in the cross-functional team, expanding on our existing test automation frameworks and test coverage across a range of configurations, and leading our test automation efforts on new features.

    What You'll Do In This Role

    • You’ll work on test automation issues related to the Quality department, the Secure stage, and the entire GitLab product. The work you’ll do will be transparent and open to the GitLab community.
    • You'll have the opportunity to become an expert in security testing-related tools and concerns.
    • You’ll develop new tests and tools for our GitLab.com frontend, backend APIs and services, and low-level systems like geo-replication, CI/CD, and load balancing.
    • You’ll identify and drive the adoption of best practices in code health, testing, testability, and maintainability.
    • You’ll work with engineers to define and implement mechanisms to inject testing earlier into the software development process.
    • You’ll configure automated tests to execute reliably and efficiently in our CI/CD environments.
    • You’ll work 1:1 with a Product Manager, and with the wider product and development teams to understand how new features should be tested and to contribute to automated tests for these new features.
    • You’ll work in an environment where we aim to have a 1:10 ratio of Software Engineers in Test to Engineers.
    • You could work on projects where you’ll be tasked with moving our security products from their own standalone QA process to the GitLab QA review application, grow our test coverage across our security products, or implement security testing processes.

    You should apply if:

    • You’ve got at least a few years of professional experience developing in Ruby or working on a Ruby on Rails application.
    • You’ve got some experience with security testing or an interest in the security field. To demonstrate this, you could be familiar with SQL injections, cross-site scripting, or URL manipulation. Alternatively, you may have been involved in OWASP or security hacking sessions. This list is by no means exhaustive; it's here to give you an insight into the types of security testing experience we look for.
    • You’ve got a working knowledge of Docker.
    • You’ve worked with industry-standard CI tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, Bamboo, or Circle CI for example.
    • You’re comfortable with Selenium-based test automation tools like Capybara or Watir.
    • You’ve got experience with Git and its command line.
    • You’re interested in growing your knowledge and skills in Test Environment Provisioning and Configuring (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, GCP / AWS).
    • You know about clean code and the test pyramid, and champion these concepts.

    UX Researcher / Senior UX Researcher, Ops

    As a UX Researcher at GitLab, you will be responsible for guiding research initiatives within a product groups that are working on features relatated to the Ops portion of the DevOps lifecycle.     What You'll Do In This Role

    • Proactively identify generative user research projects within your stage groups. Work collaboratively with Product Managers to execute research projects.
    • Divide your time across strategic research, problem validation, and solution validation.
    • Guide, and where necessary train, Product Designers in how to undertake evaluative research projects and in how to create strategic deliverables (such as journey maps, storyboards, competitive analyses, and personas).
    • Form a working understanding of the technology and features of the stage groups to which you are assigned, and have working knowledge of the end-to-end GitLab product.
    • Evangelize research. Share user insights with the broader organization and externally in creative ways to increase empathy.
    • Lead strategic user research initiatives that span multiple stage groups (and possibly the entire product).
    • Mentor UX Researchers, both inside and outside of your stage groups.
    • Actively contribute to UX Research processes, documentation, and repositories.
    • Engage in social media efforts, including writing blog articles and responding on Twitter, as appropriate.
    • Interview potential UX candidates.

    Mid-Market Account Executive (First Order / New Business)

    Responsibilities

    • Account Executive, Mid-market will report to a Regional Director
    • Act as a primary point of contact and the face of GitLab for our Mid Market prospects.
    • Contribute to root cause analyses on wins/losses.
      • Communicate lessons learned to the team, including account managers, the marketing team, and the technical team.
    • Take ownership of your book of business
      • document the buying criteria
      • document the buying process
      • document next steps and owners
      • ensure pipeline accuracy based on evidence and not hope
    • Contribute to documenting improvements in our sales handbook .
    • Provide account leadership and direction in the pre- and post-sales process
    • Be the voice of the customer by contributing product ideas to our public issue tracker

    Requirements

    • A true desire to see customers benefit from the investment they make with you
    • 5+ years of experience with Software sales
    • Interest in GitLab, and open source software
    • Willingness and ability (preferably experience) to focus exclusively on landing new business
    • Capable of thinking outside the box to experiment with different methods to get meetings and close new accounts
