    Engineering Manager - Springs

    Primary Function:

    • Managing all capital, development, engineering, or construction/installation projects involving innovative, and timely and cost-effective implementation for Kellanova.  Major emphasis is placed on cost, schedule, and performance in all areas i.e., processing, packing, electrical, mechanical utilities, civil/structural or construction.

    Principal Duties & Responsibilities: 

    •  Conducts projects technical and commercial feasibility studies, and evaluation of options with benefits / cost analysis and recommendations.
    •  Prepares project appropriation document to the Kellanova global standards.
    • Prepares detailed technical specifications for all project work including scope of work and contract of performance for contractors.
    • Provides project scope, cost estimates, studies, and schedules to the Engineering Manager for project justification and approval.
    • Manages assigned engineering and/or development projects, initiates, and supervises pertinent activities, prepares project drawings, tests, evaluations, and specifications, oversees and calculates the development of design and materials to meet the needs of the project scope.
    •  Supervises the fabrication of equipment by suppliers and monitors quality and adherence to technical specification and project timelines.
    •  Supervises the installation and commissioning of projects in the factory and adherence to Kellanova safety and sanitations standards and OHS act.
    • Manages the project handover process including training of operators and updating all relevant documentation.
    •  Acts as internal professional consultant to the Plant in field of expertise, which often requires inspections, troubleshooting and problem - solving.
    •  Works with purchasing and vendors to establish design criteria for selecting equipment in order to prepare bid requests, contract documents, cost estimates, and performance data to ensure the selection of the most cost-effective and technologically advanced equipment, processing packaging and facilities.
    •  Ensures proper and adequate documentation of project records.
    • Evaluates and/or checks equipment, materials and services received for adherence to contract specifications and approves vendor invoices for payment.
    •  Adhere to Kellanova Environmental Management System.
    •  Ensure and adhere to all the processes and systems in SAP is followed as per procurement policy.

    Preferred Education & Experience:

    • An engineering degree or a T4 engineering diploma
    • Min of 5 years’ experience in FMCG
    • CAD experience
    • Project Management Experience
    • MS Office
    • GCC

    HR Business Partner - Springs

    Job Details

    The Human Resource Business partnering with Springs business leaders and employees in ensuring that we Source the right talent, Employee Relations guidance, Talent Management, Talent Retention, Skills Development and Performance Management for the Springs plant and the rest of the Supply chain functions. This position is in Springs South Africa

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HRBP in our Springs Plant.  Reporting to the HR Manager, the role will responsibilities such as:

    •  Advise and support on ER matters within the Supply Chain function in line with Company policies and Government legislation.
    • Facilitate internal Disciplinary processes.
    • Represent company on external bodies such as CCMA.
    • Assist in union engagement and preparation for union meetings.
    • Assist in ensuring that all Talent cards, IDP are in place
    • Assist in talent review process for identifying key talent.
    • Facilitating talent session with HR Manager for GL3 and below Talent
    • Support and assist with implementation of transformation agenda for supply chain function.
    • Part of the KWS People centre of excellence
    • Support and coordinate internal skills development programmes implemented ie functional training
    • Facilitations of all HR recruited training.
    • Ensures that all performance goals are agreed and captured on system.
    • Support in ensuring that manager and employee feedback take place for mid-year and final year reviews.
    • Facilitate performance improvement plans for employees.

    EDUCATION & RELEVANT YEARS JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor of Honours in Human Resource Management
    • 10 years’ experience as a HR generalist coupled with bulk of ER and recruitment experience.
    • 7 years at experience within Supply Chain environment and 3 years within Corporate Environment
    • Extensive knowledge of laws impacting HR.  Industrial relations / union exposure and good HR generalist experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify and leverage internal and external technical resources.
    • Demonstrated ability to coach and consult multiple organisational levels from the plant floor to supply chain senior leadership.
    • Experience with manufacturing & enterprise systems.
    • Proven problem-solving skills inclusive of Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, and Conflict Resolution.
    • Proficiency with computers, and computer software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
    • Candidate preferred qualifications:
    • Experience with Lean
    • Previous Manufacturing Operations Management.
