    R&Q ACS Manager

    Job Description: 

    • Responding to accounting technical queries for both IFRS and IFRS for SME frameworks through written reports that cover accounting opinions
    • Assisting with the preparation and presentation of accounting updates and training on IFRS in Western Cape - internal and external 
    • Resolve technical IFRS and IFRS for SME queries 
    • Completion of independent IFRS reviews 
    • Attendance of accounting conference calls 
    • Staying up to date with developments in both local standards and IFRS through internal research and involvement on local topic teams and market interest groups
    • Holding of TEE off meetings for Assurance 
    • Liaison on technical queries with National ACS 
    • Provide input into Quarterly Assurance R&Q meetings 
    • Maintenance of library, ordering of publications and financial statements

    Job Description;  Qualification Level: CA (SA)

    • Experience: 0-18 months

    Competencies / Skills:

    • Good working knowledge and understanding of IFRS
    • Technical research skills - being able to evaluate a situation broadly and to consider all aspects, including IFRS, JSE requirements, Companies Act and other applicable legislation 
    • Ability to answer  IFRS and IFRS for SME based enquiries and consultations with thoroughly documented technical references to the accounting standards and PwC’s Manual of Accounting 
    • Good verbal and written communication as well as presentation skills 
    • Ability to identify critical components of legal documents, contracts and other sources in order to establish a pertinent set of background facts that then feed into a robust technical conclusion.
    • Ability to work with and easily converse with, all levels of management (partners, managers and staff) 
    • Good literacy in English with strong report writing skills 
    • Highly computer literate with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint as well as Google Docs 
    • Good interpersonal and relationship skills 
    • Intellectual curiosity – ask questions, challenge,  as well as apply professional scepticism 
    • Self starter able to take responsibility and multi-task 
    • Ability to work both as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision

    Part of our strategy in Digitising our Business is to have talented individuals (Digital Accelerators "DAs") go through additional upskilling to lift their digital capabilities and influence to the next level and help us drive digital transformation on our engagements

    Digital Accelerators will enable the business to achieve on improving margings. The Digital Accelerator will be placed on engagements in the Western Cape Assurance practice with a specific focus of taking hours out of assurance engagements by building and utilising digital assets and solutions. This will mean that DAs are deployed back into the business, but not just simply back into their existing roles - the DA focus means it is a change from "business as usual" with their involvement on the various assignments (not all existing and potentially some cross-industry) helping to drive digital client and engagement solutions.

    Other accountabilities

    • Participate in the Digital Transformation programme
    • Complete four month nanodegree from Udacity
    • Application of their newly acquired, specialist skills to complete a predetermined project

    Minimum Qualifications & Skills

    • 3 Years Audit Experience
    • Digital skills
    • Highly computer literate with advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint
    • Advanced Power BI, UiPath and Alteryx skills

    Responsibilities

    • Assignment planning and budgeting
    • Manage junior consultants in the RAS practice
    • Provide risk, security and controls related consulting services to clients
    • Help grow the RAS practice with focus on consulting and audit related services through assistance with business development, including writing of proposals.
    • Manage client service delivery
    • Ensure quality of service delivery
    • Identify, test and review IT general controls over the following IT domains: program changes, access to programs and data, program develop, computer operations and IT governance
    • Identify, test and review manual and automated application controls
    • Information Security assessments (across people, manual and automated processes) including the identification of gaps and formulating recommendations on remediation
    • Draft reports for management, articulating the risks of the issues identified, and providing meaningful and practical recommendations
    • Effectively communicate results of assessment findings, rational and recommendations
    • Document interviews, develop findings and recommendations;
    • Document the results of fieldwork, review the work of juniors
    • Ensure compliance to firm's risk management policies
    • Perform assessments in a thorough, efficient and professional manner;
    • Obtain the required domain knowledge to conduct the assessments or remediation
    • Technical skills required will vary depending on the specialist group within RAS (e.g Digital Trust, Digital Trust (SAP specific), Cyber security, Internal Audit, Data Analytics etc)
