    Junior Product Developer

    Role overview:

    • The Junior Product Developer plays a crucial support role in the product development process, assisting the Product Developer in managing the product development of new furniture and homeware products from initial design approval through to delivery of product. This position involves communication with local and international suppliers, ensure timely sampling and costing, and maintain up-to-date documentation. The Junior Product Developer will aid in the preparation of technical specifications, technical drawings and assembly instructions. By ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all product-related tasks, this role contributes to the successful execution of new product initiatives.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Assist the Product Developer with collating Briefs for local and international suppliers on new product designs for development once the designs are approved.
    • Following up on sampling and costing to ensuring internal deadlines are met by suppliers.
    • With the help of suppliers, assist with putting together assembly instructions where needed as part of spec briefs.
    • Ensure the filing system is kept up to date on all product development designs/briefs and signed off specs.
    • Prepare and update spec sheets outlining all product information on each new product for signoff by supplier and buyer – cross checking for accuracy.
    • Work closely with the Product Developer to assist in ensuring all new product information is relayed timeously to ensure a successful product launch.
    • Assist the product developer in putting together technical drawing for New Product briefs.
    • Facilitate communication between suppliers and internal teams to streamline feedback and resolve any issues.
    • Prepare additional documentation such as presentations for internal meetings or supplier briefings as needed.
    • Help evaluate prototypes and samples, providing feedback on design, functionality, and materials.
    • Help coordinate with production teams to ensure manufacturing processes align with product specifications.

    What you bring:

    • Diploma or degree in drafting, industrial design, or product design
    • Proficiency in design software e.g. AutoCAD, Fusion, or similar 3D design tools
    • Minimum of 1-2 years working experience in product development, project coordination or design.
    • Valid driver's license and own reliable transport

    Senior Sales Consultant

    • As a Sales Consultant, you’ll deliver exceptional service to all Weylandts customers. You’ll use your strong communication and networking skills to build meaningful customer relationships and drive sales.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Customer Experience

    What you bring:

    • Grade 12/ Matric
    • Relevant diploma/ degree advantageous e.g. Interior Design
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in a retail, interior, or client-facing sales environment, preferably within the premium or lifestyle sector
    • Previous experience in retail or client-focused setting
    • Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills
    • Comfortable working with different systems and technology, including Syspro
    • Available to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
    • Passionate about décor and Weylandts furniture and homeware products
    • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle essential

    Team Leader: Machine Shop

    Job Purpose:

    • We are looking for a Machine Shop Team Leader. Someone who takes pride in high standards, leads with confidence and clarity, and ensures that every process, machine, and team member operates with precision and purpose.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Lead and support the Machine Shop team to consistently deliver quality workmanship.
    • Oversee daily machine operations and maintain a well-organised, efficient, and safe workspace.
    • Ensure machines are operated according to standard procedures, with care and respect for equipment.
    • Troubleshoot machine or process issues calmly and effectively, escalating where necessary.
    • Maintain accuracy and adherence to technical drawings and production specifications.
    • Uphold a culture of excellence through coaching, communication, and continuous improvement.
    • Monitor output, optimise workflow, and report on production performance.
    • Champion good housekeeping and equipment maintenance to reflect the Weylandts standard.

    Skills Required:

    • Grade 12 (Matric); additional technical training or trade certification advantageous.
    • 3–5 years’ experience in a machine shop or furniture manufacturing environment.
    • Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
    • Solid understanding of woodworking machinery (CNC, panel saws, moulders, planers, routers).
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings and production documentation accurately.
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
    • A steady, quality-driven mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
