    Senior Electrical Engineer

    • Lead assigned projects taking total ownership for power systems electrical engineering design. Ensure that electrical engineering activities are executed within budgeted manhours and schedules in compliance with project specifications, standards and specifically with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of South Africa. Be able to work individually or as part of electrical team on projects
    • Be part of multi-disciplinary project team providing full co-operation to the project team to achieve project goals. Perform general project management of the electrical scope of work by providing regular schedule updates, attending regular progress meetings and reports. Provide input into electrical scope man-hour estimates and project schedules
    • Create electrical load schedules as the basis for electrical power system design
    • Conceptualize power system overall and protection systems schemes and single line diagrams
    • Perform electrical power system design calculations including power equipment sizing, cable sizing, earthing, lightning protection and lighting
    • Perform electrical system and protection grading studies using specialized software
    • Conceptualize substation layout and sizing based on electrical tagged equipment
    • Design and co-ordinate the electrical interfacing with other engineering disciplines to assure alignment
    • Assist electrical design drawing office with general electrical design drawings including approval of design drawings. Ensure overall accuracy and quality of design drawings for easy construction and maintenance
    • Requisition procurement of electrical tagged detailing all requirements complete with data sheets. Provide input on electrical content of other discipline procured equipment. Prepare technical bid analysis of procured electrical items. Review and approve electrical supplier documents and provide input into other discipline supplier documents. Attend factory acceptance testing of electrical procured items as well as other disciplines procured equipment electrical content
    • Requisition installation contracts including E&I, cathodic protection and electrical trace heating. Provide input on electrical content of other discipline contracts. Prepare technical bid analysis of electrical contracts and provide input into other discipline contracts. Review and approve electrical supplier documents and provide input into other discipline supplier documents. Provide site support to site team with regular visits and technical clarifications.
    • Assist with the compilation of operating manuals and mechanical catalogues
    • Perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Electrical Head of Department

    Skills / Qualifications

    • BSc, BEng, BTech Power Engineering
    • ECSA registration
    • +8 years relevant post graduate experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry
    • Electrical Engineers are required in the following locations; Midrand, Sasolburg and Secunda

    HSSE Officer

     

    • Provide onsite support in a functional role to the HSEC Manager.
    • Provide onsite support to Construction Manager and Project Manager.
    • Provide HSEC support to site managers and supervisors.
    • Ensure task specific Risk Assessments are done by the contractors and implemented.
    • Ensure contractors adhere to Safe Work Procedures.
    • Ensure implementation of, and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other required legislation
    • Ensure legal compliance of all contractors on site.
    • Conduct HSEC audits as specified per schedule
    • Conduct daily site inspection in support of HSEC Manager
    • Promote behavioral base safety in Hazard Elimination and Recognition Training (HEART)

       

    Key Responsibilities:
     

    • Provide daily reporting to HSEC Manager, and Construction Manager on request. Compile weekly HSEC report and forward to functional manager. Initiate and conduct HSEC audits on contractors associated with area of responsibility. Provide advice to project personnel on strategies and problem solving on HSEC matters. Inspection of work activities in compliance with Risk Assessments. Participate in site hazard inspections.
    • Inspect and sign off contractor HSEC Management Plan. Participate in bi - weekly HSEC coordination meetings. Attend daily / weekly progress meetings associated in the area of responsibility. Conduct inspections on work permits; ensuring current and documentation maintained. Monitor daily contractor crew talks. Monitor safe work procedures, verifying contractor compliance. Conduct risk management in the identification of hazards in the workplace and recommend corrective or preventive measures, including control systems to detect deviation from agreed HSEC policies. Participate in incident and / or accident investigations and coordinate corrective and preventative actions. Conduct site inspections related to waste disposal and industrial hygiene, protective clothing and the storage of dangerous chemicals and other substances. Provide technical advice on chemical and physical agent behavior, impact and control as they effect the environment and health of employees and users. Provide technical advice on matters relating to industrial hygiene, safety and environmental matters and ensure safety programs comply with project specification, legal requirements, standards and policies.
    • Assist the HSEC Manager for the roll out of HSEC information related to site activities, manage HSEC issues in designated area of responsibility on site, Conduct Safety Interventions. Participate in bi - weekly HSEC management and contractor safety walk abouts. Ensure all contractors practice HSEC standards as required by the project.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5 years as a HSEC Advisor in a project environment

    Material Control Administration Assistant

    Job Objective:

    • The effective purchase Order administration and closing out of Purchase Orders, whilst ensuring compliance with Project Procedure
    • Expediting of documentation as required on the Convero system
    • Maintaining the procurement system on Convero
    • Work in a safe manner, complying with statutory requirements and the company Health, Safety and Environmental, (HSE), policies, manuals and procedures
    • Adhere to agreed quality standards and ensures clients satisfaction

    Key Accountability & Responsibilities:

    • Support the Supply Chain Administrator
    • Assist with ensuring that the procurement objectives with specific reference to Convero are met
    • Providing timeous information from Convero. Assist with maintaining project supplier list
    • Issuing of Vendor applications and recording information of Vendors on the Project Vendor Master
    • Compilation of preferential procurement monthly
    • Assisting the Materials control Administrator, Project Supply Chain Manager, Contracts Manager and Material Control Manager with preparation of reports as required
    • Load of Purchase Requisitions / Order and associated information on Convero, ensuring all fields are populated and required information uploaded
    • Respond to purchase order queries, prepare and issue amendments as necessary after authorization from the respective Buyer and or Contracts Manager
    • Expediting of revision changes on specifications and drawings
    • Ensure Purchase Order documentation comply with company procedures

    Skills / Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Equivalent of a Matric
    • Tertiary qualification in Materials Management preferable

    Knowledge, skills and experience:

    • A min of 3 - 6 years’ experience in Expediting and Materials Management, preferably within the engineering sector
    • Be able to work under pressure, work on own initiative
    • High level of numeracy, computer literacy and construction / engineering process understanding
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with Vendor, client, Project Manager, Project Engineers and other internal departments
    • Must be responsible, accurate and thorough in all areas
    • Thorough knowledge of and hands on experience with computers and associated software packages

    Senior Instrument Engineer

    • Responsible for the design and approval of all Instrument work on assigned projects.
    • Responsible for preparation and approval of project related standards and job notes.
    • Ensure that engineering activities on assigned projects are executed within budgeted manhours and approved schedules in compliance with project procedures, standards and specifications and in accordance with procedures and the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of South Africa.
    • Review and approve project schedules with the Project Engineer to see that all dates, rates of progress and design periods are realistic.
    • Prepare and approve project specific standards and job notes.
    • Reflect instrument requirements on project MFD’s / P&ID’s utilising ISA standards and symbology.
    • Prepare a project instrument index reflecting all instrumentation requirements inclusive of instrument type selection compliant to process criteria.
    • Prepare requisition index for Instrument work, indicating planned issue date for each requisition. Update and re-issue monthly.
    • Check and approve the drawing index for Instrument drawings.
    • Prepare and approve general notes requisitions for Instrumentation.
    • Design and requisition Instrumentation. This includes instrument size and protection methodology calculations and verification checks.
    • Assist the designers with the preparation of Instrument drawings.
    • Review and approve all Instrument drawings and ensure that the quality of design and drawings produced for enquiry and fabrication purposes is of satisfactory standard.
    • Prepare technical bid analysis for Instrumentation.
    • Attend coordination meetings and engineering review meetings with supplier as required.
    • Review document requirements and issue dates for major equipment with suppliers and assist Procurement Department in compiling a Supplier’s Document Index.
    • Assist Procurement Department with the expediting of supplier documents.
    • Review and approve supplier documents for Instrumentation and distribute.
    • Review in conjunction with Procurement Department all claims by supplier for an increase in the engineering scope of work.
    • Give guidance to client, project engineers, other specialist engineers and inspectors on Instrument engineering matters. Review Instrument aspects of package unit supplier’s drawings as requested by the engineer responsible for the equipment.
    • Ensure that Instrument engineering operations are complete in accordance with the approved project schedule and within allocated manhours.
    • Advise the Principal Instrument Engineer of any slippages and their causes and proposed corrective action.
    • Advise the Principal Instrument Engineer of any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups.
    • Co-ordinate with Procurement Department and ensure certified drawings are available in time to meet the engineering schedules.
    • Notify the Project Engineer of all deficiencies in the flow of data or other basic information required for execution of work.
    • Provide progress report information, at the required frequency and with the required content, to the Project Engineer.
    • Provide information where necessary to estimating the cost of contract changes, Alert the Project Engineer / Project Manager to circumstances considered to be subject to contract change.
    • Follow up Instrumentation construction work on project sites to ensure correct interpretation of designs regarding installation.
    • Keep abreast of development in the Instrument engineering field.
    • Suggest ways to improve efficiency, costs and service in the execution of projects.
    • Assist where necessary in the compilation of operating manuals and mechanical catalogues.
    • Perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Principal Instrument Engineer.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • BSc, BEng or BTech Engineering)
    • PrEng registration
    • +5 relevant post graduate experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry
    • In-Tools 6.0 or Higher

    Assistant Material Controller / Stores Assistant

    • Oversee the physical receipt and issuing of goods coming onto site.
    • Ensure that material is controlled in terms of the relevant procedures on site.
    • Key Accontability & Responsibilities:
    • Ensure that the physical receipt and issuing of goods on site is managed and controlled and duly reconciled against the relevant purchase and issuing orders
    • Receive receipts and invoices from suppliers and check them for accuracy
    • Supervise the off-loading and storage of equipment and supplies
