    Communication Manager

    Job Description:
    Job Description

    • As the Communications Manager, you will provide integrated communication plans and ensure execution for the Far Eastern Limb (FEL), providing support to Mototolo Complex and Twickenham mine. Where required, support will also be provided to our joint venture operations Bokoni Platinum Mine and Modikwa.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Responsible for the management of all operational communication – internal and external – for the Far Eastern Limb operations,  aligned with organisation strategies and objectives
    • Develop operational strategies and an integrated communication plan for the FEL aligned to the AAP and AA plc business strategies
    • Implement an Operating Model Communications plan (with support from the Corporate Communications Lead) for the FEL and embed OM communications in the operation
    • Support the leadership team and line management in executing their communication responsibilities
    • Maintain an effective network of internal and external communication channels with local key stakeholders (head the respective editorial committees for and produce employee newsletters as required, as well as the community newspaper)
    • Manage the development of suitable material for corporate and group channels
    • Identify issues impacting the operation and develop communication interventions as required (e.g. safety campaigns)
    • This role is based at Mototolo Complex , at a Band 6 level reporting to the Senior Manager – Social Performance FEL. The successful candidate will have a close working relationship with the General Manager and HOD teams in the FEL, and also have a dotted reporting line to Anglo American Platinum’s Head of Communications, based at the head office in Johannesburg.

     

    Qualifications:

    •  Degree/ Diploma in communications, journalism, marketing or another relevant field

    Required Experience

    •  Five to seven years’ experience in a communication management role
    • Experience in the development of integrated comms plans in a complex environment
    • Mining industry experience would be an advantage but is not essential

    Laboratory Technician

    Job Description:

    The purpose of this role is to prepare samples for chemical analysis in a way that meets the correct quality and production requirements.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Report all incidents within shift.

    • Ensure that work area is tidy and safe to work in.

    • Attend and participate in green area meetings.

    • Perform SLAM and ensure that Continuous Risk Assessment books are signed.

    • Participate in inspections monthly together with the SHE rep.

    • Perform tasks according to the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

    • Conduct quality checks as required and address checks that fall out of specification by taking necessary action.

    • Sort and mill samples to specification.

    • Flux samples according to procedure.

    • Load samples in furnace and pour when fusion is complete.

    • Deslag and cupellation of lead buttons.

    • Pick prills and dissolve using a microwave.

    • Deslag and milling of nickel buttons.

    • Fuse samples with sodium peroxide, leach and make up to correct volume.

    • Use a gas pycnometer to determine density.

    • Ensure that consumables are collected from the store timeously so that work is not halted.

    Qualifications:

    • Matric with Maths and Science.

    • Basic computer literacy.

    Role-specific knowledge: 

    • Understanding and competency of the routine laboratory procedure.

    Processor Melter G3 B2

    Job Description:

    Acting as a support for our teams, some of your duties will include:

    • Manual operation of equipment, which includes operating of valves, manual sampling as well as stopping the operation if working conditions are unsafe

    • Perform inspections on equipment

    Customer Engagement Centre Supervisor

    Job Description:

    You will be responsible to oversee the Contact Centre/Walk-In Centre (Platinum) within EMEA ES Global Shared Service including the effective integration of processes within GSS to ensure efficient and effective resolution of customer queries within the GSS scope of service offerings as well as the associated processes of employee engagement and inbound document management. 

    • Oversee the day-to-day customer service operation in Thabazimbi and Rustenburg Region (Precious metals, Base metals and Waterval Smelters). Travelling will be required between the operations.

    • Capacity management to ensure there is always a GSS presence at all Walk-In Centres.

    • Provides performance evaluations, feedback, and identifies and supports workforce development opportunities

    • Assists with the resolution of issues escalated beyond and escalates issues and Incidents to the GSS resolvers, as appropriate

    • Monitors and reports escalation and resolution processes for customer queries

    • Continually monitor coverage and response times to achieve Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics and take remedial action where required

    • Control and monitor systems operations and compliance to policies by; identifying trends, investigation of potential problems and improvement opportunities

    • Work with the CE Coordinator in the assessment of customer feedback surveys

    • Encourage the development of a trusting and mutual respect relationship with customers and stakeholders

    • Works with the CE Coordinator to staff and manage resources

    • Responsible for printing, sorting and distributing of payslips to Walk-In Centres (Thabazimbi and Rustenburg)

    You will be required to travel between Rustenburg and Thabazimbi. 

    Qualifications:

    You must have: 

    • A relevant HR/Payroll 3 year qualification is required.

    Technical Knowledge:

    • At least 3 years’ experience of which:

    • 2 years were at a supervisory level;

    • 3 years were in Customer Service Delivery

    • Knowledge of SAP systems. SAP MSD would be advantageous.

    • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on detail

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office

    • Excel Intermediate Level

    Project Manager

    Job Description:

    Purpose:

    Assist in the roll out and effective implementation of all the Zimele Programmes across the Hubs. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist the programme Implementation Manager in the effective implementation of the Zimele strategy and manage / monitor rollout of programme at hubs.

    • Assist the programme Implementation Manager to manage the relationship between Zimele and delivery partner(s).

    • Serve as trusted advisor to the Programme Implementation Manger on implementation challenges and risks.

    • Establish an effective ways of working within the project team, and lead cross-functional, inter-disciplinary teams toward shared outcomes.

    • Procurement process: Assist with creation of new RFC, PR, SES and vendor registration on SAP.

    • Business Integrity: Assist with completion of business integrity compliance.

    • Support on project management office and governance creating various project schedules and tracking, with milestones, due dates.

    • Support on various proof of concepts related to youth development and ESD pillars.

    • Demonstrate behaviour in line with the Group’s values, standards and a professional workplace.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in project management, OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity. 

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

    General Accounting Accountant

    Job Description:

    Under the leadership of the General Accounting Supervisor, complete the following activities in accordance with agreed service levels:

    • Responsibility for month-end close activities.

    • Update and complete SOP’s process documents.

    • On a monthly basis process all relevant transactions in the general ledger with special note on overdue items and making appropriate disclosures to the General Accounting Supervisor.

    • Responsible for processing all journal entries into relevant ledgers and submission to the General Accounting Supervisor for review in a timely manner.

    • Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet by preparing general ledger balance sheet reconciliations, investigate and report on financial discrepancies and overdue items.

    • Complete and submit all relevant statutory and regulatory returns performed by the accounting team.

    • Execute escalation process to support effective service delivery.

    • Assist in the preparation of the KPI reports.

    • Support deadline management

    • Follow up and ensure that audit requests are submitted

    • Focus on recording, completeness and measurement of all transactions

    This role is at a Band 7 level reporting to the General Accounting Supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    Qualifications: 

    BCOM Accounting /BCOMPT Degree or a relevant tertiary qualification or comprehensive experience in a financial discipline at a recognised institution

    Experience:

    • Accounting experience in the mining industry/corporate multinational environment

    • 2 Years Record to Report (General Accounting) experience

    • Demonstrated functional accounting experience in a similar environment

    • Experience of year-end and other statutory reporting

    • Experience with analysis and benchmarking of financial/business data

    • Experience of performing key controls and working with adherence to financial

    • Currently a member or eligible to become a member of a recognised accounting body (recommended)
