    Head- Environmental Contracts & Compliance

    Requirements

    • A relevant 3 year tertiary qualification, preferably a B-Degree in Law or Environmental Management (LLB would be advantageous)
    • Up to 8 years’ relevant experience in environmental management including the administration and enforcement of environmental laws
    • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of environmental laws including the application of administrative justice principles in environmental administration, compliance monitoring and law enforcement
    • Computer Literacy (MS Office ;)
    • A valid Code B or EB driver’s license (essential)
    • Physically fit and abled bodied

    Key Performance Areas

    • Ensure environmental laws are correctly interpreted in strategic planning and project preparation processes by advising and guiding project managers and specialists on applicable environmental law and its interpretation and application in each strategy or project
    • Application of administrative justice of national and provincial environmental legislation and City By-Laws
    • Facilitation of contracts and agreements such as MoA’s for environmental resources management, utilization and association of strategic or operational environmental partnerships in order to provide for sustainable resource allocation which protects the interest of the City, residents and other stakeholders
    • Providing specialist legal skills and experience to facilitate environmental compliance and monitoring, enforcement, reporting and remedial action

    Programme Manager - Facilities Management Infrastructure Development Planning

    Requirements

    • A relevant tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6 or above)
    • Eight (8) years’ or more experience (programme management) with extensive managerial experience
    • Computer Literacy
    • Valid Code B driver’s licence

    Senior Property Officers - Transversal Real Estate Services

    Requirements

    • A relevant post matric qualification, preferably a Certificate/Diploma / B Degree in Property Management / Build Environment/ or related field.
    • 5-8 years relevant experience
    • Experience in local government municipal functions and related immovable property legislation and policies.
    • Computer literacy: MS Office.
    • A Valid Code EB/B drivers’ licence
    • Must be physically fit and able bodied in order to perform the functions associated with the position, which may include site inspections in respect of properties with difficult terrain.
    • Must be prepared to work outside of normal working hours if and when required

    Key Performance Areas

    • Conduct investigations into City owned immovable property, including its spatial attributes and circumstances , as well as suitability and best future use, in response to a request or application
    • Perform a development facilitation function by attending to feasibility investigations, appointing service providers and ensuring the development /enhancement of identified City owned properties.
    • Transaction Management: Coordinate the preparation of properties to be alienated / leased to ensure that properties are fully investigated and packaged prior to sale effectively and efficiently dispose of land no longer required by the City. Comply with the MFMA and the Policy on the Management of Council’s Immovable Property and other applicable legislation.
    • Resource Management: Manage the implementation of projects, investigations and transactions through the application of project management methodology.
    • Communication and Stakeholder engagement: Implement the Department’s communication strategy.

    WS 107/24 Senior Professional Officer

    Requirements

    • First Degree/B Tech in Civil Engineering
    • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer/ Technologist
    • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in pipeline construction/ repair and/or dam safety management, and project management

    Assistant Environmental Professional

    Requirements

    • Advanced certificate/National Diploma in an Environmental or related field, with a focus on natural sciences, geography or environmental management;
    • Post-graduate qualification in an Environmental or related field will be an advantage
    • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience with sound knowledge and understanding of environmental legislation and practices;
    • 2 or more years’ experience will be advantageous;

    Requirements

    • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
    • 3 to 5 years relevant experience in an electricity distribution system or public lighting environment, with exposure to a wide range of technologies.

    Requirements

    • B.Bibl/B.LIS or PG Dipl.LIS or B.Inf (Hons)
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a public library environment and at least 3 years’ managerial experience
