    Customer Services Officer

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Coordinate and control of the customer care and management strategy and processes in the designated service centres.

    Driver Messenger

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Receives work details and/or communicates with the departmental personnel to establish details of tasks.
    • Inspects safety devices, controls, lubricant levels etc on vehicles and reports defects to the Superintendent.

    Senior Manager (Projects)

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Develops a strategic and tactical plan for the completion of projects associated with the provision of infrastructural services and shelter for the qualifying communities within the vision of the Breaking New Ground (BNG).
    • Interprets, implements and ensures compliance with all plans, building and Local, Provincial and National policies.
    • Facilitates economic development including job creation, training and the promotion and establishment of contractors.

    Superintendent (Workshop)

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Plans, co-ordinates and controls the maintenance/servicing and repairs of departmental vehicles/motor cycles and performs testing and road testing for repaired vehicles.
    • Reports on existing and proposed new departmental vehicles/motor cycles in respect of history of repairs and reliability.
    • Submits reports in respect of accident and mechanical damages to vehicles/motor cycles including estimated cost of repairs or disposal of vehicle.
    • Co-ordinates and controls all records in respect of spares, cost of spares, job cards, call-in system, lubricant issues, divisional instruction book etc.
    • Implements and controls all relevant provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, ensuring strict compliance with all prescriptions.
    • Obtains quotations from engineering repair companies and panel beating companies and submits repairs exceeding R1750.00 to the Inspector for approval and supervision of repairs to be undertaken.
    • Reviews the entire price lists of work and services offered by approved companies and reports promptly thereafter in writing to the Inspector.
    • Manages, develops and monitors the performance and conduct of staff and ensures staffing requirements are met.
    • Manages general administration functions and liaises constantly with private companies, suppliers, internal departmental personnel and other Council departmental personnel.

    Essential Requirements

    • Trade Tested Artisan (Motor Mechanic).
    • Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code B and EC).
    • Valid motorcycle license (Code A).
    • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
    • 5 years relevant post apprenticeship experience.
