    Trainee Consumer Feedback & Sensory Specialist

    Position Summary

    A day in the life of a Trainee Consumer Feedback and Sensory Specialist

    Leadership

    • Investigate consumer complaints and perform Root Cause Analysis

    • Discuss consumer complaints with operators in formal sessions and solicit for bottom-up proposals to reduce and eliminate complaints

    • Develop and maintain the monthly consumer complaint statistics by product group and variant

    • Analyze Complaint data & draw trends at the end of every month and submit to the Factory QA Manager and Corporate Quality

    • Create Quality awareness weekly on top priority quality defects across factory

    • Alert factory management on all key priority quality projects which are not on track (OTIF)

    Sensory

    • Develop a competent group of tasters across functions to carry out the In-Out tasting for raw materials, semi-finished - and finished products.

    • Recruitment, screening, training, and managing of Sensory panels.

    • Triangle testing – when the process or an ingredient has changed to identify if there is a significant difference.

    • Standard approval – when a new standard has to be selected a triangle test has to be performed to proof similarity.

    • Keeping Quality tests should be conducted, recorded and shared with the application group.

    Technical Assistance

    • Factory QA: Overall support plants with developing corrective actions for defects and entering result to allow early shipmentApplication groups; Provides the relevant Application groups with support on development on consumer centric specifications and FTR industrial batches

    • Production: Provides support on the release of rework for all plants and drive defect elimination by strong inline sensory management to prevent defects from reaching finished product

    People Development

    • Raise the awareness in the factory on consumer complaints and sensitize staff driving employees who are closer to the consumer

    What will make you successful

    • Degree/Diploma in Food Technology

    Leadership

Support the organisational short- and long-term business needs to drive competitive advantage and address opportunities and threats.  Drive flawless execution of Global, NiM and local HR Initiatives.  Co-ordinate and execute workforce planning for the specific customer unit.            

    • Organisational Design & Development (OD&D): Pro-actively challenge the established organisational structure of the customer unit to drive superior performance (taking account of Nestlé principles, policies & local business context).  Ensure people issues are a key consideration when discussing and planning business activities.     Sales Finance Analyst

    • Optimize trade spend investments: Ensure that Pre & Post promotional evaluations are performed timeously and accurately.

    • Provide financial support to CAMs in their preparation of evaluations. Provide analysis of evaluations vs prior year, across and categories and across customers to ensure optimal use of funds. 

    • Leverage Customer Contribution Statements (CCS) as a Management Tool by providing analysis pertaining to mix impact, and clear understanding of the CCS drivers.                

    • Custodian of internal controls and assurance that trade spend practices comply with internal and external guidelines                

    • Partner with relevant functions to ensure transparency, alignment and proactive collaboration on Trade Spend                

    • Partner with Customer Finance organization to facilitate discussion on order to cash payment cycle and to provide financial guidance in customer negotiations

    Business Process Specialist

    A Business Process Specialist

    Manage Process Orders:

    • Release process orders daily and instruct factory planner with alternatives

    • Order from Stores & Replenish (stage for) raw and packaging materials

    • Supervise the capture SAM / downtime; run time and all stoppages

    • Ensures the Capture of the daily consumption of raw and packaging materials against the correct process order (use scanning where applicable)

    • Ensure accurate capture of daily output and labelling of HALB

    • Close off PI sheet daily with 100% accuracy.

    • TECO process orders after all checks and balances is place for daily reconciliation. (Check MUV, hours, clearance of material reservations: MRP)

    • Investigation, Reconcile FERT with 3d party external Warehouse M’ment. [Audit requirement] including follow up resolution discrepancies.

    • Train end user to do daily capturing and assist in any problems

    Financial Control and Stock Management:

    • Perform daily stock check and ensure that SAP system stock and physical stock matches (Material number, Quantity, Batch number and SSC Label). Differences in theoretical and actual stock must be reconciled immediately prior to process end, Responsible for training the operators on the methodology including competence assessment.

    • Weekly and monthly stock counting of PSA (141,145 & 172)

    • Monthly Stock verification with management accounting department.

    • Chair and manage weekly variance meetings with costing (ADMIN) department

    • Control variances (labour and material) and implementation of appropriate action

    Rework:

    • Supervise the rework champions operations:

    • Ensure that daily stock checks are performed and that SAP system stock and physical stock matches (Material number, Quantity, Batch number and SSC Label)

    • Weekly and monthly stock counting of PSA - Stock verification with management accounting department

    • Supervise the use of rework into the product (ensure FEFO) applies

    • Ensure correct recording of consumption of rework per process order

    • Oversee the sale of CHOX and ensure all best practices are followed

    What will make you successful

    • Two-Year National Certificate in Production Management or IP. [NQF 5]. 

    • SAP RPL

    • Experience with Process Definition within the Technical & Production application environment
