  • Senior Portfolio Manager

    Detailed Description

    • To effectively drive and deliver on the segmented model portfolio thus ensuring performance targets are achieved in line with the M&F business strategy.
    • Develop optimum relationships with intermediaries and internal role players.
    • Ensure continuous strategic and business alignment between intermediary and Mutual & Federal.
    • Manage allocated portfolio wrt growth, retention, profitability and any other business relevant factors.
    • Ensure positive relationships are built and maintained and excellent customer service is provided to various role players (internal and external).
    • Ensure relevant feedback, information and reports are prepared, submitted and presented to various stakeholders on all aspects of growth and profitability.
    • Deliver optimal customer experience, quality of service and achievement of personal targets.
    • Please note that this is a Role Size “N”
    • Identify and develop sales opportunities.
    • Ensure a consistent and detailed understanding of the sales targets, goals, performance levels, products, business rules and conditions.
    • Identify and drive the cost to serve model with relevance to allocated broker segment.
    • Identify and drive opportunities to improve and enhance product and service offerings.
    • Ensure a consistent detailed understanding amongst brokers of their growth targets, goals, performance levels and available products.
    • Resolve customer complaints and queries where necessary.
    • Keep abreast of market conditions and trends and relevant industry regulations.
    • Management of main critical focus areas on balance sheet
    • Display and deeper understanding of and ability to market effectively all aspects of the business, including UMAs, and Specialist Insurance
    • Optimal use of business tools, such as SFA, BI, CRM on demand to drive relevant business imperatives.
    • Control DMA within portfolio.
    • Drive increased utilization of mf online and any other self-service platforms.
    • Effective participation in any relevant industry related functions or forums.
    • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, practices and procedures.
    • Identify and recommend areas / ways to improve processes.
    • Maintain service, quality and desired outputs within a specific functional process through ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures and standards.
    • Resolve escalated customer queries and complaints and provide feedback to customers on matters resolved.
    • Develop work routines in line with operational plans / schedules in order to manage achievement of service delivery goals
    • Share knowledge on, and participate in the creation of new standards, control systems and procedures to maintain service delivery.
    • Proactively ensure use of time, of resources, money, materials or equipment is in line with policies and procedures. Comply with corporate governance policies, procedures and standards.
    • Operate within agreed mandates. Align own behavior with the organization culture and values.
    • Share and transfer product, process and systems knowledge to colleagues
    • Collaborate and work with the Business Development team to deliver required service levels.
    • Actively participate in the Business Development team to ensure functional balanced scorecard objectives are achieved.
    • Ensure achievement of own performance objectives.
    • Actively share information with other team members regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas.
    • Actively participate in own professional development and career path.


    Job Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Relevant / appropriate tertiary degree / diploma (sales, marketing, or commerce)
    • NQF Level 5 insurance qualification (or close to completion)
    • Valid driver’s license
    • 3 years underwriting experience
    • Minimum of 5 years insurance sales/marketing experience, but 5 - 7 years preferable
    • Ability to handle large size and complex accounts
    • Ability to develop and maintain strategic business partnerships with high value broker segments
    • Ability to present business propositions to senior stakeholders
    • Computer literate

    Negotiator: Recoveries

    Detailed Description

    • Answer telephone and email queries from the brokers, based on updated logs
    • Update e-log notes
    • Prepare payments file on successful recovery
    • Finalise claim as per RECOVERIES standard – Update log – Update broker – Finalise on BPM and financial system
    • Collaborate and work closely together with others thereby leveraging constructive team dynamics and innovation
    • Be aware of capacity building initiatives (i.e. development programmes, training, mentorship, coaching etc.)
    • Align own behaviour with the organisation culture and values
    • Achieve own performance objectives
    • Actively participate in own professional development and career path.
    • Proactively ensure use of time, of resources, money, materials or equipment is in line with policies and procedures
    • Provide customer services in line with quality and performance standards
    • Build positive customer relations and solve or escalate customer queries and complaints. Gather feedback on customer satisfaction and report to the relevant party

    Job Requirements

    • Matric
    • Appropriate Insurance Qualification
    • 3 years’ relevant Short Term Insurance Motor Recovery Claims experience
    • Minimum period required to perform productivity in this job: 1 Month

    Job Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • NQF Level 4 insurance qualification would be advantageous
    • Valid driver’s license
    • 2 - 3 years commercial underwriting experience
    • Minimum of 2 years insurance sales/marketing experience, but 3 – 5 years preferable
    • Ability to handle large size and complex accounts
    • Computer literate
