    Accountant - Reporting

    Minimum requirements:

    • B Degree in Finance or Commerce or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 7).
    • 3 - 5 years' experience in the preparation of Annual Financial Statements and external financial reporting
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation and rules.
    • Understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
    • Understanding of debtors/accounts receivable related practices.
    • Understanding of Financial systems.
    • Advanced Proficiency in MS Office.
    • Proficient in ITS or equivalent.

    Summary of Duties:

    • Prepare financial statements on a monthly and quarterly basis and submit them to the manager responsible for External reporting for review and approval.
    • Prepare the financial reports of the DUT entities.
    • File AFS for annual return.
    • Attend to and resolve financial queries from heads of departments.
    • Keep abreast of changes in the accounting and financial regulation, legislation, and reporting framework and ensure the University is ready for implementation.
    • Assist with the preparation of external audits.
    • Provide external auditors with the required information.
    • Assist with the resolution of audit findings.
    • Prepare statistical data for external reporting to the Reserve Bank, Statistics South Africa, and Department of Higher Education.
    • Prepare financial performance indicators for the Department of Education for comparative purposes.
    • Prepare information for the timeous and accurate submission of statutory reports to the relevant authorities and governing bodies.
    • Prepare and file tax returns.
    • Attend to financial queries from internal and external stakeholders and refer unresolved matters to the Manager External Reporting.

    Secretary - Durban

    Minimum Requirements:

    • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Secretarial/Office Management/Administration/Business Administration, or relevant qualification.
    • Minimum 5 years in a Secretarial/ Admin position, of which at least 3 years of secretarial experience at a senior management level.
    • Experience in Office Management, involving multidisciplinary functions.
    • Considerable knowledge of standard secretarial practices and Business English, modern office equipment, practices, and procedures.
    • Demonstrable high-level knowledge, and experience in computer literacy in particular Windows-based computer programs including MS Office, and the Internet.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provides a full range of high-level administrative and secretarial support to the Senior Director which includes managing the diary.
    • Confirms daily schedule and work plan and arranges appointments in a time-effective manner.
    • Provides a variety of support tasks that may be highly sensitive and confidential.
    • Type correspondences, reports, and presentations, including layout and formatting.
    • Ensures the office of the Senior Director is properly briefed and familiar with the agenda in advance of all meetings.

    Cybersecurity Specialist - Durban

    Minimum Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related qualification in information technology, telecommunications, or any related field

    Minimum Requirements:

    HR Business Analytics and Reporting Specialist

    Minimum Requirements:

    • A postgraduate degree in Human Resources Management (NQF level 7) and Statistics/ Business Analytics or an equivalent qualification is required OR BSc/BA in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Management, or a related field

    Financial Data Analyst - Durban

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, or Statistics, (NQF Level 7).
    • 3 to 6 years’ Experience in Financial and/or Data Analytics, Accounting and Reporting. Internship experience in the Higher Education sector is preferred in a data modelling or financial / accounting assistant role.
