    Mobile Software Engineer (Android)

    Job Description

    iKhokha is on the hunt for a Mobile Software Engineer with a knack for Native Android App development and a robust skill set in Java/Kotlin.

    So, what will you do?  

    In this role you will contribute to developing and maintaining our mobile applications, ensuring high-quality and user-friendly experiences for our iKhokha app users. 

    You will also play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our mobile software solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative features and enhancements. 

    In addition to the above, you will:  

    • You will be developing crispy new user-facing features that drive our users to take action, using Java, Kotlin for Android Apps. 
    • You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of mobile Apps, including: initial planning, development, writing test cases, creating the deployment pipeline and deploying to our cloud hosting provider. 
    • You will need to exhibit excellent communication and team player skills. 
    • You will work in an Agile environment: using Scrum or Kanban method. 
    • You will be doing Version Control: whereby you will work in an Engineering Team (3+ Developers of various levels) with a version control system such as GitHub. 
    • You will be involved in Development environments: whereby you will work in an Engineering team (3+ Developers of various levels) with multiple environments for development, testing and production; including branching strategies. 
    • You will be involved with documentation: creating, maintaining and reviewing. 
    • You will be involved with code reviews: leading and participating for your own reviews and those for other teams. 

    Qualifications

    The following would be advantageous: 

    • Successfully completed the Android Nano Degree. 
    • A degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 

    Deal Breakers:  

    • 3+ years’ experience in Native Android App development. 
    • Strong Java for Android and / or Kotlin skills and comfortable working with Android Studio.  
    • In depth understanding of Android App architecture best practices. 
    • Integration with 3rd party SDK's and API's. 
    • Experience with Restful Web Services / Web Hooks using JSON. 
    • Published and managed Apps on the Google Play Store and Huawei App Gallery. 

    Additional experience that would make you a front runner for the role: 

    • Experience with software development for iOS (Swift). 
    • Comfortable working with Git and build pipelines such as Github Actions. 
    • Comfortable working with Gradle. 
    • Experience with Unit & Instrumentation Testing. 
    • Excellent analytical skills. 
    • Understand design and layouts for both App and Tablet. 
    • Good communication skills.

    You will be responsible for growing the iKhokha customer base and be accountable for hitting steep sales targets in Upington and the surrounding areas of the Northern Cape.  

    We need H U N T E R S who will actively source and find new sales opportunities, build a sales pipeline and most importantly, close deals.  If you enjoy a fast paced environment and love a challenge, then keep reading on... 

    In addition to the above, you will: 

    • Prospect and canvass for new customers in targeted areas and targeted industries 
    • Post-sale call and follow ups, logging all activity and demos with clients

    • Ensure all set company Gross Profit, Device sales and Demo targets are achieved on a monthly & quarterly basis

    Qualifications

    • Completed Matric

    • Minimum 3 year’s Field/Outbound Sales experience. 
    • Previous exposure working within merchant services or banking sector is advantageous. 
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.                             
    • Intermediate knowledge using Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sales Software & CRM.             
    • FICA training advantageous.                                                                
    • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport is essential.

    In addition to the above, you will:

    • Make cold sales calls from databases and/or lists/referrals.
    • Sales calls from warm leads from various marketing channels and activities.
    • Ensuring daily KPI’s are met.
    • Talk time and dials are met daily.
    • SLA’s are met for every client.
    • Ensuring all applications are complete and submitted timeously.
    • Liaising with clients and other departments within the business to ensure the clients is serviced timeously.
    • Communication with all clients on all platforms are done timeously.

    Qualifications

    • Completed Matric/Grade 12.

    Deal Breakers: 

    • 1 - 2 years call centre experience.
    • 2 - 4 years sales experience.
    • Business to business sales expertise.
    • Knowledge of sales techniques, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in  Microsoft Applications.
    • Experience in using a CRM tool.
    • Previous exposure to Hubspot will be advantageous.
