    Part-time Cello Teacher

    Minimum Requirements:   

    • A BMus or equivalent degree with cello teaching methodology as a subject and at least 3 years teaching experience
    • Be willing to be involved in the extra-curricular music programme of the school
    • Be willing to prepare students for eisteddfods, external examinations and other school functions
    • Be prepared to undertake some administrative tasks relevant to cello tuition as the Director of Music may require
    • Must have the ability to work creatively with students and to work as member of a vibrant music team

    Duties and Responsibilities:    

    • Teaching Cello to individual learners on a weekly basis
    • Administrative tasks relevant to cello tuition as directed by the Director of Music
    • Preparing students for eisteddfods, external examinations and other school functions
    • Being involved in the extra-curricular music programme of the school

    Senior Kitchen Supervisor (Fixed-term contract)

        
    The person must meet the following requirements:

    • Female, aged between 30 – 55 years
    • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
    • Must be proficient in computer operations, particularly MS Office Suite.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Flexible to work shifts, inclusive of evenings, occasional weekends and stay-in duties as well as school holidays
    • Fluent in English and Afrikaans
    • A non-smoker with sober habits
    • A minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory role coupled with five years cooking and baking skills
    • Exceptional time management skills.
    • Exceptional knowledge of dietary requirements.
    • Strong knowledge of events, hospitality industry and kitchen hygiene.
    • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance, stock control and managing inventory.

    Duties and Responsibilities:    

    • Planning, preparation and serving of meals for all boarders and staff living on campus, including vegetarian and other special meal requirements. 
    • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen workers engaged in food preparation.
    • Assiting the Catering Manager in the running of the Hostel Kitchen, including equipment maintenance, stock control and managing inventory.
    • Be in charge of the kitchen in the absence of the Catering Manager, answer phone the phone, take messages and communicate with suppliers.
    • Set and clear the Dining Room before and after each meal, ensuring that the venue is cleaned and swept before the next meal.
