    Process Optimisation Engineer

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    You are responsible for applying technical expertise to drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing unit in order to maintain and improve operating efficiencies, reduce cost and improve sustainability. You will assist in the design of processes for new and existing products. You will implement projects to align with engineering strategies, standards and frameworks. You will optimise operating systems to enable safe, efficient and effective operation of facilities and infrastructure throughout its lifecycle. You will support MECP through the Focused Improvement Pillar. You will be based in a manufacturing unit reporting into a Plant/Manufacturing Manager with a dotted line to the Process Engineer.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Perform data analysis, root-cause analysis and identify and implement process improvements to support issue resolution and optimizing production processes to eliminate losses, improve quality, capacity, throughput and conversion cost
    • Conducting process capability studies to establish optimal product rationalization on production lines and provide input to the production planning team
    • Develop and review heat and material balances
    • Become an SME - understand the manufacturing technology in the category and work with technology, maintenance and manufacturing teams to resolve issues relating to product quality, process capability and efficiency challenges
    • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing & conducting research; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and material; consulting equipment vendors and soliciting observations from operators
    • Work with the R&D, Technology and Quality teams to support the design of new systems and processes for the introduction of new products and the improvement of existing processes. Assist in trial design, execution and reporting
    • Be the process custodian, evaluating new innovations as it is deployed
    • Evaluate the impact of projects on current processes, and develop and implement appropriate changes relating to operating, safety and quality procedures.

    Operations Manager: Bakeries

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    You are accountable for managing a cluster of manufacturing plants to deliver the Safety , Quality plant performance, customer service levels, as well as the required manufacturing standards as per the defined SC KPIs and additional metrics defined in the SLA.     Lead Cost Accountant: Snacks & Treats - Durban

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    You will be responsible for the reporting of, but not limited to, product cost, mix, volume, material and conversion variances. This will include analysis of labour efficiency, yields, waste, factory OEE’s, cost drivers (allocation rules) and cost control. You be expected to summarize key findings and draw management’s attention and support for action. You will be responsible for the inventory, fixed assets and related balance sheets accounts for your unit(s), the reconciliation thereof. Your support will be required to ensure that internal controls, capital and operating expenses are properly governed and compliant with company policies and protocols and you will be responsible for managing the cost accountants in your cluster. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Set and monitor standard costs (using a fully absorbed, activity based model) with the assistance of Procurement and Operations. This includes costings for new product and amendments to existing costs.                                          
    • Accurate and timeous loading of new and amended bill of materials                                          
    • Report weekly (WPE) on the factories' performance for the current month and forecast performance for the month in question.                                          
    • Review and follow up on open orders, long outstanding orders.                                          
    • For month end reporting purposes, provide list of accruals, check adherence to cut-off transactions, prepare documentation to support adjusting journals and validate GL accounts.                                          
    • Manage cost variances determined by cost analyst on a daily basis and ensure material items are escalated to site management for action.                                          
    • On a monthly basis, report on material cost variances, over / under recoveries and improvement projects                                          
    • Report on and assist department heads with cost control, budgeting and forecasting (Perform revisions or simulations as needed)                                          
    • Ensure full transparency of costs and the financial impact of major decisions relating to the cluster of factories.                                          
    • Critically evaluate investment or new operating proposals, and using sensitivity analysis, ensure they are capable of yielding expected returns. Perform follow up reviews on a periodic basis.                                          
    • Ensure that internal controls at each unit are adequate, regularly monitored, compliant with standard operating procedures.  Assist and support audit processes and take responsibility for control self assessment program.  Ensure implementation of audit recommendations.                                          
    • Explore opportunities for cost reduction initiatives and be an active contributor to all improvement projects and initiatives - review and validate proposed savings.                                           
    • Assist FSSC by providing support for inventory and fixed assets balance sheet recons.                                           
    • Take responsibility for the integrity of stock takes and ensure adherence to the standard operating procedures, including the authorization of inventory write-off.                                          
    • Provide guidance and support to cost accountant and cost analysts who report to this position and ensure the integrity and timeous delivery, of their outputs.

    SSE Officer

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    You will create an environment that is conducive to Tiger Brands continuous improvement in the fields of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental compliance, enabling Tiger Brands to achieve its objectives in the above-mentioned fields of legal compliance and social responsibility. You will implement and maintain the international safety and environmental management systems and ensure the site adherence to all SHE related legislation.

    You will facilitate the identification of site risks with the HODs and lead the documentation of the risk assessment matrices. The Risk Manager is required to drive capability building for SHE at the site with the support of the SC Academy and HRD Personnel. He / She is the custodian of safe working practices. The candidate will ensure that all work is carried out according to SHE policies, standards, and procedures by implementing a behavioral based safety program on site. They are further required to supply SHE guidance and support to the site and monitor compliance through the facilitation of SHE incident investigations being conducted and following up on actions completed. Root cause analysis tools will be utilized for identify and implementing preventative actions for SHE.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    A buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies or equipment for a business.  Duties include negotiating deals with suppliers, researching possible item selections and taking inventory of current products.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
