    General Assistant - JHB

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Performs cleaning tasks e.g. sweeping, vacuuming, disinfecting, mopping, dusting, removing dustbins etc., using cleaning materials and equipment as recommended by the supplier
    • Cleans kitchens and toilets
    • Ensures that cups, plates and cutlery used by staff must not be left unwashed for more than 45 minutes after use
    • Cleans table tops after use
    • Cleans the fridge once a week
    • Empties dustbins and removes waste
    • Complies with all health and safety regulations

    Professional Nurse: Adolescent & Youth Programme

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work in DOH PHC facilities to initiate & follow up HIV negative adolescents and youth (or adults) on PrEP
    • Initiate and follow up HIV infected clients on ART (adolescents and youth (and adults)
    • Initiate, follow up and manage TB, HIV infected adolescents and youth in line with DOH HIV Management guidelines and Anova workplan and Facility 959595 plans
    • Provide PICT, screening for TB, STI’s, Sexual Reproductive health (SRH) & and other chronic conditions and manage symptomatic patients appropriately
    • Provide phlebotomy services for pre-treatment (baseline investigations for ART and PrEP) as well as monitoring of patients with HIV, TB and those on PrEP.
    • Assess and refer adolescents and youth in need of other services to higher level of care or other DREAMS partners, CBO’s and NGO’s, in line with DOH and agreed upon bi-directional referral guidelines.
    • Manage referrals from community adolescent, youth and OVC partners and record these appropriately
    • Ensure accurate completion of ART/PrEP clinical stationery and all relevant NDOH and AYFS registers, as per NDOH guidelines

    Outreach Team Lead

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    Monitoring And Evaluation Officer

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Data Collection and Reporting Coordination:

    • Ensure that facility M&E data staff have the tools, access, and training necessary to perform their duties optimally. Problem-solve challenges
    • Engage facility managers and program teams on a weekly basis to discuss challenges with data collection, analysis, and reporting
    • Prepare and develop systematic and realistic facility M&E implementation plans that outline processes for the capturing of quantitative and qualitative data to report on project performance indicators, and with input from the M&E Manager finalise for approval by the Program Manager
    • Coordinate the implementation of baseline surveys
    • Review and adapt existing, or develop new, project reporting templates that facilitate the effective collection of data and aggregation of information
    • Compile data from all Anova projects ensuring data is at the agreed levels of quality standards
    • Maintain effective information databases for projects
    • Compile reports and verify data, validating the accuracy of reports generated from projects. prior to submission to donors on a quarterly and annual basis or as directed by the M&E Manager

    Data Quality Improvement:

    • Conduct monthly data quality assessments/audits to identify data quality improvement and training needs
    • Develop facility data quality improvement project plans
    • Work closely with the Facility Managers, M&E Data Capturers, M&E Manager, and Technical Advisors to implement data collection and data quality improvement plans
    • Measure and report data quality improvement project progress and outcomes
    • Support the M&E Manager on regular data quality drives, setting targets to reduce data capturing and reporting mistakes
    • Provide supportive supervision on data entry and capturing processes to the M&E Data Collectors

    Data Analysing and Reporting for Facility and Program Performance Improvement

    • Support managers and advisors in the evaluation and documentation of qualitative and quantitative performance measures at quarterly and yearly intervals, following completion of implementation of projects
    • Investigate and resolve queries regarding reporting form all programs and activities
    • Regularly analyse data trends at facility level to identify patterns observed, preparing monthly reports to M&E Managers and facility leaders
    • Prepare high quality reports and disseminate findings to the program teams to support evidence-based decision making relating to activities and focus areas

    Support to Program stakeholders (DOH and other Health stakeholders)

    • Collaborate with the M&E Manager to resolve any difficulties with program activities and program compliance
    • Contribute to the development of guidelines and standards for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all project interventions

    Senior Site Coordinator - Parktown

     Key duties and responsibilities:

     Project Coordination

    • Lead and support Peer Educators and larger outreach team in their respective region.
    • Provide supervision to the site coordinators.
    • Work closely with the site coordinators to manage daily outreach activities.
    • Provide on the job training to the of site coordinators, HTS Counsellors, and Peer educators.
    • Coordinate community HIV testing and counselling activities, and other screening services on outreach
    • Work with site coordinators to identify places where people who inject drugs congregate and send this monthly to the M&E copying the project manager.
    • Responsible for updating and adding all the sites to the mapping tool monthly.
    • Ensure that site Coordinators adhere to the SOP’s relating to the distribution of harm reduction kits, needles and syringes, condoms and lubricants, and other materials during outreach to PWUD and partners.
    • Document and report all the missing project supplies, and assess the reasons given and take appropriate action.
    • Recruit clients to receive Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) and submit the report to the project manager and M&E monthly.
    • Provide and ensure that risk assessment is done per client.
    • Work with Site coordinators to ensure that there is always enough harm reduction packs to the site.
    • Work closely with the PSS team to assess the psychosocial, human rights and risk elements of clients and make referrals to relevant departments. Include this update as part of your monthly narrative.
    • Ensure monthly organisation of district clean ups with people who inject drugs and other stakeholders in the region. Include this update as part of your monthly narrative.

    Counsellor Driver - Parktown

    Key duties and responsibilities: 

    Transport and Logistics

    • Ensure safe and secure transit to and from outreach sites and offices. Responsible for managing the mobile clinic or work vehicle.
    • Maintain fuel, mileage, and maintenance records as instructed by Project manager, site Coordinator/ Administrator
    • Ensure all field equipment is loaded and unloaded each shift (chairs, tents, generators, etc.)
    • Ensure all the items in the vehicle are handled correctly and you should report all the damages that occurred.  
    • Follow all the rules/regulations of the road relating to the National Road Traffic Act of South Africa and as per Anova vehicle SOP and safety requirements.

    Enrolled Nurse - JHB

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Clinical services:

    • Screen patients for STIs, TB/HIV and refer for further management
    • Facilitate established support groups for patients living with HIV/AIDS
    • Establish and implement adolescent ART support groups at all targeted facilities
    • Assist at alternative distribution sites to ensure efficient running of the programme

    Decanting Coordinator - JHB

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Health Systems Strengthening

    • Provide direction and supervision to sub-ordinates; the Decanting Mentors.
    • Familiarise self with district healthcare system, policies, and appropriate lines of communication

    Decanting Mentor - JHB

    Key Responsibilities and Duties:
    Recruitment, cohort facilitation and monitoring of decanted patients

    • Support the implementation of Repeat Prescriptions collection strategies (RPCS) in supported facilities
    • Identify eligible stable chronic patients into Repeat prescription  collection strategies, with the assistance of a nursing clinician

    Conducting support/education group activities

    Monitoring And Evaluation Manager - JHB

    Key duties and responsibilities

    Data Collection and Reporting

    • Ensure that the defined data flow and internal reporting requirements are adhered to, and guidelines, SOPs and other tools put in place for data collection, aggregation and reporting are utilised correctly and are available.
    • Support with harmonisation/standardisation of data collection and reporting tools and SOPs at sites
    • Ensure compliance by M&E staff to applicable confidentiality prescripts (e.g. POPIA) in so far as use of and access to health information systems is concerned

    Data Quality Control and Data Analysis

    • Ensure data sources collect the required information to the set minimum quality standards.
    • Ensure appropriate data quality assurance and control systems, measures and tools that are in place are adhered to at all sites.
    • Identify shortcomings in the data quality management processes and support with remedying these by developing protocols to ensure regular, accurate data collection and reporting and continually improve them for efficiency.
    • Ensure correct and complete subdistrict weekly, monthly, quarterly programme performance reports are submitted at scheduled times.
    • Analyse weekly, monthly, quarterly subdistrict programme data and provide insights on performance against targets and other reports to programme implementation teams as required for the purposes of programme improvement
    • Provide data analytic support to M&E Officers, Data capturers and other programme team members as required.

    Capacity Building and Sustainability

    • Regularly assess the capacity gaps of M&E Officers and data capturers, including government M&E staff, and support with developing the training curricula
    • Mentor, coach and train M&E Officers and data capturers, focussing on, for example, effectively executing their M&E mandate.
    • Support with M&E skills transfer to Department of Health staff
    • Provide supportive supervision for subdistrict M&E staff on data collection and  management, reporting processes, systematic use of defined M&E tools.           

    Data Use and Learning

    • Support the use/creation or strengthening of forums to share, review and use programme data at sub-district level (internally and externally)
    • Create data use demand by encouraging use of data on available platforms.
    • Conduct data analysis for effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability, coherence, and relevance, of programme activities etc and disseminate findings thereof to relevant stakeholders for the purposes of programme improvement.
    • Operationalise tools that support data use within the subdistrict.

    M&E Supervision and Operations Management

    • Manage and supervise sub-district M&E staff effectively including ensuring that they are aligned to the company strategic plans and effectively deliver their M&E mandate.
    • Ensure that the M&E sub-district staff composition is fit for purpose through, for example, supporting strategic planning on staffing.
    • Support initiatives for career development of sub-district M&E staff by, among others, mentoring and coaching them and identifying their professional development opportunities.
    • Proactively manage operational issues (e.g. M&E staffing at subdistrict) to ensure the sub-district M&E unit is able to effectively perform its duties.
    • Ensure availability and correct use of health information systems e.g. TIER.net

    Stakeholder Support and Management

    • Support effective reporting to stakeholders, such as the Department of Health, at sub-district level on programme performance
    • Build and sustain relationships with external stakeholders at sub-district levels.
    • Support efforts aimed at developing M&E capacity for the Department of Health at subdistrict levels.
    • Support with building capacity of DoH sub-district programme and M&E teams to use data in a strategic manner to inform programme decision making.

    Essential qualifications and experience

    • An NQF level 7 Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation/ Public Health/ Epidemiology/ Information Systems/ Computer Science Statistics/ Project Management or any equivalent degree
    • At least 3 years’ experience in designing, operationalising, and managing monitoring and evaluation systems, ensuring data quality, and managing data-intensive, performance-based programmes, preferably in large-scale PEPFAR-funded programmes.
    • Working knowledge of PEPFAR and South Africa’s health information systems such as DATIM and TIER.Net and monitoring and evaluation processes as they relate to data collection for performance-based reporting.
    • Experience in leading and managing diverse teams composed of monitoring and evaluation officers and data capturers.
    • Competence in disseminating lessons learnt on programme performance to interdisciplinary teams including sub-district government health facility managers and programme managers.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities, deliver on short deadlines and being a self-starter.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office analytical and business intelligence applications, most particularly but not limited to Excel and Power-point. Being competent with programming languages such as R and SQL is an added advantage.
    • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various health facilities in the City of Johannesburg district

    Retention Counsellor - JHB

    Key duties and responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive counselling to promote retention in line with DoH policies and guidelines and in line with District 909090 DIP and Sub-district IP 909090 plans.
    • Recruit and receive referrals of high-risk patients such as pregnant women, paediatrics, adolescents and youth
    • Promote and facilitate index testing and facilitate partner disclosure using the Index Screening Tool and actively refer for HTS.
    • Collaborate with Ward Based Outreach team and DoH Social Worker, Dietician, Lay Counsellors and Clinicians for bi-lateral referrals.
    • Report as per agreed timelines to Professional at the facility or other Anova team members as required
    • Be available to work on weekends &/ or Public Holidays to provide adherence counselling at DoH facilities when required, a minimum of at least one Saturday per month (When required)

    Essential qualifications and experience

    • Matric/Grade 12 certificate
    • Training in Basic HAST, HIV Counselling, Adherence counselling
    • Certificate in couple counselling, RTCQI, disclosure and paediatric consent an advantage
    • Knowledge of DoH HCT guidelines & NAS.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as an HTS counsellor/ Adherence counsellor

    Clinical Technical Advisor - JHB

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Technical advisor aimed to provide skills transfer to DoH and ANOVA counterparts and build local capacity to achieve Health system strengthening at the facility level.
    • To implement improvement strategies that will improve 909090 programme, SA NDOH NSP for HIV/TB/STI (2017- 2022) plans.
    • To form a part of a multi-disciplinary team in implementation of improvement strategies and to inspire DoH team to lead in all quality improvements strategies.
    • Support the development and implementation of facility 909090 plans in line with sub-district 909090 plans
    • Train and mentor facilities in completion of TRAP tools and preparations of sub-district phuthuma meeting. Monitor the implementation of facility phuthuma activities and review Facility phuthuma performance indicators and develop improvements plans for non-performing indicators.
    • Participate in preparation and during USAID visit at the supported facility and follow up on facility USAID action items.
    • Lead the developments of QIP’s through a stakeholder engagement in the facilities to improve the PMTCT programme, TB/HIV co-infection, Peads and Adults ART management including HIV case finding strategies, linkage to care, VL management and DMOC in supported facilities.
    • Use facility data to evaluate QIP’s implemented in the facilities and develop further improvements as a change idea.
    • Conduct file audits (Paeds, Adults, PMTCT and TB) to identify clinical management gabs and provide mentorships
    • Support the ideal clinic implementation in the facilities (including conducting baseline, status determination, printing of temporary signage, conducting patient waiting surveys and develop QIP’s)
    • Conduct facility baseline skills audits and provide training on gabs identified. Update skills audit database for teams in the facilities via our training centre.
    • Train DoH and ANOVA clinicians on updated clinical guidelines and mentor mentee on NIMART until competency and complete portfolio of evidence
    • Train DoH and ANOVA on QI methodologies and the model on how to implement QI for DoH ownership.
    • Develop and provide tools for design, implementation, and monitoring of QIP’s.
    • Supervise and oversee Anova DSD Professional Nurse and Enrolled Nurse working in supported facilities

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Tertiary qualification (Degree) in a health-related field
    • Registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council

    • NIMART trained and certified competency
    • Certificate in PC 101/Adult Primary Care and IMCI
    • Quality Improvement Advisor Course or other training in QI methodologies
