    Internal Control Specialist - Midrand

    Purpose of the Job

    • Work with stakeholders across BMW SA, including leadership and control owners to implement and monitor financial reporting and operational control standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Proactively identify the impacts of changes in business processes to financial compliance and ensure effective mitigation of any associated risks.
    • Supports management and finance teams through various processes enabling them to undertake control self-assessments.
    • Plan and document the measures in coordination with FR-5.
    • Responsible for the procedure of the ICS risk assessment and the ICS evaluation.
    • Identification of ICS relevant risks.
    • Coordination of design, documentation and continuous updating of processes and controls.
    • Coordination and driver of assessment and further development of ICS on-site.
    • Review and input of ICS relevant topics in projects with ICS relevance.
    • Review and testing of controls with more focus on controls relevant for financial reporting.
    • Evaluate and respond to control testing results, working with relevant stakeholders to create remediation plans and mitigating controls, and to identify compensating controls as needed.
    • In case of control test failure, document mitigation measures under deviations, and monitor for closure.
    • Ensure process maps are clearly documented and reviewed yearly.
    • Interrogation of risk incidents to identify any connection to the failed or inadequate control.
    • Implementation or creation of new controls where risk or gaps have been identified.
    • In addition to the Risk Management role, also responsible for the management of Internal Controls

    Systems (ICS).

    • Conducting of risk assessment in conjunction with different accounts groups
    • Critical review of documented controls, control ownership and line of responsibility where a shared controls are seated in more one area.
    • Monitoring and management of access risk across all systems in accordance with role assignment and profiling.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Auditing, Finance or Risk/Compliance is essential.

    Work and Leadership Experience

    • 5 to 8 years of experience in audit, risk and controls environments. 
    • Experience in a shared services environment is preferrable.

    Specialist: Quality Management - Rosslyn

    The position is for a  Quality Steerer -  responsible to steer the achievement (Complete steering of the Problem-Management-Process) of quality targets agreed for the plant through target management, risk management (i.e. mPFMEA’s, Field cases, Timeous escalation etc), problem management etc. and integrating the quality tasks in the production technologies. (Training, steering, monitoring, escalations on high level Quality circles as feedback)          

    Functions of the role are :

    • Assures function of Problem management according to procedural instructions as defined by the BMW Group
    • Control of all the required processes, as stipulated in the VA (Official BMW processes) and steering the required outcomes to meet the targets.
    • Ensure minimum entry criteria is met for steering PQMs (problem steering incidences in PQM System)  via sensors.
    • Ensure completeness and accuracy of PQM contents.
    • Adhere to PQM runtime targets and pre-inform management of anticipated non-adherence to runtime targets along with an action plan from concerned parties (Steering and escalation)
    • Determine and identifying the need to escalate a problem when the expected outcome of solutions (primary proof of effectiveness – PPoE; or secondary proof of effectiveness – SPOE) are not met (incl. runtime)
    • Ensure Problem Owners makes use of problem-solving tools and Q-methods (i.e. 5 Why , Ishikawa) in order to promote sustainable problem-solving.
    • Escalation of the respective problems, where the solutions have to be derived in development.

    Competence:  Problem-Management Process knowledge along with quality tools and methods and the ability to escalate quality risks upon recognition that targets are at risk.

    Risk Management

    • Determines Quality Risks (Late PQM’s, Re-openers, Runtime overdue, Customer containment measures etc. etc àAll processes in all Technologies on all steering levels linked to the above targets)
    • Controls agreed measures on basis of risk management list. (Controls of the above risk factors)

    Competence:  Define use of specific Q-Methods in agreement with Technology Planners.

    Validation

    • Ensure correct sensors are used for evaluating the primary proof of effectiveness (PPoE) and secondary proof of effectiveness (SPoE)
    • The Q-Steerer points out additional validation requirements within scope of Q target management if necessary

    Competence:  Understanding of production processes in order to correctly identify the most-suitable problem owner.

    Educational Background / Professional Knowledge and Experience / Other Skills / Education

    • Complete Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred and will be an advantage in this role)

    Work experience, Leadership experience

    • 3-5 years minimum Automotive Manufacturing Experience
    • Problem-Management Experience
    • In-depth knowledge of BMW production processes Competent user of PQM System

    Competent understanding of IT Systems relating to production and problem solving

    • Capturing of historical job information into SAP

    Artisan: Auto Electrician

    Job Summary

    The successful candidate will be responsible to perform the necessary repairs to vehicles as assigned by the Rework Planner with the procedures of the area.

    You would be responsible to perform the necessary repairs to vehicles as assigned by the Rework Planner.

     This position would require you to check that defects are correctly captured in IPSQ, diagnose root causes of defects, and to reserve vehicles on the F1F2 system, prior to rework commencing.

     You would be required to request spare parts (via the DS&R) process, release the defect/rework in IPSQ, and provide an accurate description of operations performed.

    Final testing to be performed, which will include the release of the retest block on IPSQ.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum N4
    • Must have Trade test Auto Electrician or Mechanic.
    • Minimum 1 year experience as a qualified Artisan with BMW systems knowledge.
    •  Sound Knowledge of ISTA, INPA and Cascade test systems

    FAIS and Market Conduct Specialist

    Job Summary 

    Contribute to the overall compliance risk management and governance for BMW Financial Services, specifically in relation to Market Conduct and FAIS:

    • Implementation of compliance risk management and governance processes within the organisation as required for an FSP.
    • Monitoring of compliance to FSCA relevant standards as issued from time to time, including current and future legislative requirements for the FSP.
    • FSCA - administrative and compliance adherence to current and future applicable regulatory requirements which impact the business of BMW Financial Services, including any codes of conduct and future CBR reporting.
    • Management of FAIS /TCF / Market Conduct related customer and regulatory complaints.

    Qualifications - External

    • Required - LLB/BCOM/Risk Management Degree.
    • Must meet the requirements to be registered as a FAIS compliance officer
    • Preferably a member of CISA.

    Must have:

    • RE 1 beneficial, RE5 advantageous.
    • In-depth understanding of the FAIS and Market Conduct.
    • Solid track record (5 years+) operating as a FAIS compliance officer

    Desired:

    • a general understanding of the motor vehicle finance industry.
