    Electrician: Electrical Section

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12 (Matric) / N3 
    • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent 
    • Qualified electrician (red seal) 
    • Valid ORHVS and HV Operating Certificate will be an added advantage
    • Valid driver’s license with PDP 
    • Experience in underground and overhead reticulation systems 
    • Must be willing to perform standby overtime duties 
    • Wireman’s licence will be an added advantage 
    • Must be certified to switch up to and including 132 KV 
    • Must be certified to switch 11 KV 
    • Must be physically fit to do strenuous work 
    • Five (05) years’ relevant electrical experience and qualified as electrician preferably within a local government environment. Preference will be given to applicants residing withini the Sedibeng District. 

    DUTIES

    • Supervises and control over the allocated personnel by: 
    • Assisting with the maintenance of electrical supply 
    • Measuring work performance 
    • Ensuring discipline and controlling all activities. 
    • Responsible for the safety and productivity. 
    • Responsible for the safety of equipment and vehicles within area of responsibility. 
    • Responsible for the general maintenance on electrical infrastructure. 
    • Install new electrical connections. 
    • Responsible for HT and LT reticulation. 
    • Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management from time to time.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12. National Diploma Finance Management or Equivalent. 
    • Valid Driver’s License. Computer Literate (MS Office, Solar Financial System). 
    • Knowledge and skills pertaining to the solar financial systems will be an added advantage.

    • Issuing of Final Notices for arrear accounts for disconnection of services to consumers.
    • Responsible for the disconnection and reconnection of services for default debtors and follow up thereof. 
    • Provide the debt collection report on a monthly basis.
    • Responsible for accounts handover to Attorneys/Debt Collectors for collections of outstanding debts. 
    • Responsible for payment arrangements with consumers pertaining to arrear accounts. 
    • To assist subordinates to minimise the loss and increase debt collection.
    • To ensure effective service and smooth operations. 
    • Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (Supervisor) from time to time.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Relevant BDegree or equivalent qualification (BSc. Or BTech. Civil Engineering). 
    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage.

    • Ensuring that IDP objectives are achieved by implementing related, relevant projects and programmes. 
    • Prepare departmental budget, SDBIP and ensure compliance thereto.

    • Adhoc analysis, projects, tenders and investigations when required. 
    • Plan and update emergency plans within the department. 
    • Responsible for financial management within the section, logistical management of assets. 
    • General personnel and administration management
