    Manager: Software Development

    Purpose

    We are looking for a Software Development Manager to join our team where you will be required to utilise your knowledge and extensive experience of software development management in a fast paced multi-disciplinary delivery team. This position will be reporting to the VP of Software Development and will be the technical owner of one of a number of platforms.

    Responsibilities of the Role

    • This is a senior position and you are expected to manage one or more teams and inspire others to achieve goals through innovation, quality and excellence.
    • Maintain highly motivated and engaged engineers, set career growth paths, conduct goal settings and regular performance reviews with a critical eye to both success and areas for improvement.
    • Resource management skills and ability to handle complex / sensitive issues, and identify strengths and weaknesses of team members and suitably make changes if required.
    • Stakeholder management, specifically with Clickatell’s Product division and PMO office to ensure full alignment and common understanding of expectations and timelines.
    • Outsource vendor management ensuring a high quality delivery within budget.

    Requirements of the Role

    • Experience and qualification
    • Degree or above relevant to the role, or demonstrable experience relevant to the role
    • Greater than 5 years experience as a software development manager
    • Excellent working knowledge and experience of both the Agile and Waterfall methodologies
    • Managing one or more teams of 10+ resources.
    • Leadership
    • Resource management skills and ability to handle complex / sensitive issues, and identify strengths and weaknesses of team members and suitably make changes if required
    • Encourage team interaction, boost employee motivation and appreciate team contribution.
    • Ability to match project tasks with opportunities for development so that employee potential is utilised to the maximum
    • Collaborative approach to working cross department, cross geography and with matrixed engineers to deliver multiple projects concurrently
    • A champion who promotes policies and standards as required across the department aligned to software development standard, ways of workings, PMO processes and product requirements.
    • Management
    • Excellent communication skills are important, since candidate will be expected to operate across multiple functional areas (engineering, operations, sales, products, pmo and marketing) including external partners, customers and team members.
    • Excellent grasp of and commitment to the principles of the Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid methodologies, including formal project management, and customer/partner.
    • Ability to manage change and effectively pass on the information to concerned teams and stakeholders for smooth execution.
    • Delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects end to end.
    • Technical
    • Great technical background and proven experience in the technologies we use such as containerisation, service orientated architecture, AWS (Services, Storage).
    • Proven proficiency in handling complex projects across multiple platforms and intricate dependencies.
    • Experience in troubleshooting, software development processes and ability to understand and implement client requirements.
    • Proven ability to analyse requirements and identify scope and nature of deliverables, guide your and other teams, and key stakeholders.
    • Comfortable end efficient as utilising tools such as Jira, Tempo, PowerBI and others to analyse team performance and make improvements to improve delivery cadence.

    Director: Software Development

    Purpose

    We are looking for a Director of Software Development to join our team where you will be required to utilise your knowledge and extensive experience to oversee the workflow and the workforce involved in the software development process. The role entails two or more Software Development Managers reporting to you.

    Responsibilities of the Role

    Senior Automation QA Engineer

    Purpose

    We are looking for a creative and talented testing automation specialist with strong scripting skills. The purpose of this role is to work closely with Test Management to ensure high quality and efficient testing practices.

    Responsibilities of the Role

    • Apply various testing methods and tools to technically test Clickatell’s products and integration to other applications and services
    • Assisting in testing process for major feature releases, and finding opportunities for automation
    • Writing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks for functional, regression and end-to-end testing
    • Ensuring automated test frameworks are integrated into the software development process
    • Convert existing manual regression tests into automated test solutions
    • Partnering with multiple engineering teams and other QA engineers to understand and fill gaps in our testing ecosystem
    • Identify and provide assessments of potential risks affecting schedule or quality, escalating matters to management and relevant stakeholders as needed

    Requirements of the Role

    • Having worked in and has a deep level of understanding in the following:
    1. Manual and automated testing using tools such as Selenium, Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, TestNG
    2. Testing web services and APIs with XML and JSON payloads
    3. BDD and Cucumber advantageous
    4. JIRA, Confluence, and bug tracking tools such as TestFLO or Zephyr
    5. Reporting tools such as Allure
    6. Build and automation tools such as Jenkins and Maven
    7. Databases SQL language and scripting (PostgreSQL, MySQL)

    Bonus skills and experience desired:

    1. Programming experience in Java or other language
    2. Test Automation experience of Asynchronous web application protocols like WebSockets
    3. Test Automation experience of Chat Commerce Applications
    4. Git or other source control management tools
    5. AWS (Amazon Web Services) or other cloud-based infrastructures
    6. Microservices architecture testing
    7. Integration with telecommunications service providers
    • At least 7+ years of experience in Automation framework development using Java/selenium with exposure to TDD, BDD.
    • Computer Science Degree a significant advantage.

    Technical Product Owner: Chat Desk

    Purpose

    We are seeking a Technical Product Owner to join our team of Champions focused on disrupting a $50B+ market. This role is deemed essential in managing and growing our product and capabilities. The role will specifically focus on our assisted chat product called Chat Desk. The role will focus primarily on the analysis and technical understanding of the capability and product. The role will work side by side with the technical lead to come up with the functionality that will work. The role will also have a partner in the product manager who will drive the business readiness items of the product.

    Responsibilities of the Role

    As a member of the Clickatell Product team, the successful candidate will be responsible to lead the technical conversations with the development team and align them to the business requirements. You will be responsible for:

    Technical Product Ownership:

    • With input from the Product Manager and other stakeholders, define the technical requirements for new product features
    • Translate client needs into technical requirements for a product
    • In collaboration with the Product manager, build a product roadmap of incremental improvements and iterative development
    • Continuously engage with current and future customers to understand their needs and challenges
    • Work very closely with the development team to define and grow the product, solve problems, and closely manage scope
    • With input from the stakeholders, the Product Owner has the primary responsibility to enhance, groom, and maintain the product backlog.
    • Make tough priority decisions and trade-offs balancing time and critical business need
    • Work with Product Manager to ensure all requirements are aligned to what needs to be delivered
    • Manage product delivery into a series of releases and work with the engineering team to facilitate the rapid and accurate delivery of product features and use-cases.
    • Design necessary handoff processes with key stakeholders; Publish and execute against these processes
    • Own part of the product roadmap and oversee the successful definition and delivery of development tasks

    Documentation Management:

    • Own the design of technical product requirements and subsequent successful delivery of the requirements
    • Design and create process documentation required to help collaboration in our expanding organization
    • The role will be expected to draft and position the client facing documentation with the help of the technical writer.

    Requirements of the Role

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering or Business degree / diploma (BBA, MBA, Business Analysis certification)
    • Have 5+ years’ experience as Business Analyst or Solutions Architect in an Agile environment
    • Advanced analysis skills are a necessity, which are delivered in detailed user stories and comprehensive product requirements
    • Experience in the 3rd party integration capabilities and experience in Software as a Service is beneficial (CPaaS)
    • Have a keen interest in user experience and intuitive designs
    • Have a deep B2B domain understanding and is used to present products to large enterprises
    • Experience working with Agile Methodology, SDLC and Sprints
    • Experience building and managing a product roadmap
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects – prioritization, planning and task delegation
    • Ability to establish and improve processes and drive implementation
    • Experience in reviewing and analyzing software industry data.

    • Have problem-solving skills.
