A postdoctoral fellowship in global surgery is available for a candidate with an interest in health systems, global surgery, and global health research. This position is based in the Department of Global Health at Stellenbosch University.

Duties
The postdoctoral fellow will investigate barriers to surgical care in South Africa and conduct a nationwide survey on surgical capacity at district hospitals. The fellow will have the opportunity to learn about research and policy in global surgery that strive to improve the quality and access to surgical care, particularly in South Africa and the sub-Saharan region. The fellow will be expected to conduct research, produce scholarly outputs including published peer-reviewed papers, mentor undergraduate and master’s degree students, and contribute to the submission of further funding applications.
