National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Journalism, Graphics Design/Development, or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a communication field.
Knowledge of graphic design.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro) for producing communication products.
Knowledge of digital media and photography.
Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, prescripts, guidelines, standards, procedures, and best practices.
Awareness of global, regional, and local political, economic, and social affairs impacting the South African Police Services.
Experience in events management.
Computer competency (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and emails).
Communication skills (Written and Verbal), facilitation, and report writing skills.
Planning and organizing skills.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong interpersonal relations, sound organizing, and project management skills.
Proficiency in communication and information management, customer focus, and responsiveness.

DUTIES:
Facilitate and enhance communication services.
Design products for awareness campaigns and implement communication campaigns and products.
Design and roll out above-the-line communication campaigns and products in collaboration with relevant stakeholders (e.g., programmes, izimbizos, and facilities).
Provide graphic design, photographic, and video services.
Design promotional displays, marketing brochures, packaging products, animations, logos, and layouts for products and services.
Plan, analyze, and design visual solutions to communication problems.
Review and check designs to avoid errors before final printing.
Take and edit photos and videos for departmental publications.
Manage the department's digital library (pictures and videos).
Facilitate departmental media events and functions.
Oversee departmental social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram) and implement social media strategies aligned with the departmental corporate identity manual.
Conduct research on current social media standards, trends, and audience preferences.
Edit, publish, and share engaging content on social media platforms.
Monitor departmental social media and respond accordingly.
Stay updated with current technologies, trends, and design tools related to social media.
Enhance departmental identity and brand.
Develop branding initiatives and establish and maintain the department's image.
Implement new features to promote brand awareness.
Promote departmental programs in line with the CSPS calendar.
Write news diaries of events to support internal publications.
Issue internal communication publications.
