Job Description
You will be responsible for:

• Effective Personal Assistant / Secretarial duties
• Communications support function
• Administration / meetings support and Minute taking
• Up-to-date filing and effective system of filing that ensure information is accessible in secretary’s absence
• Telephone answering and receptionist responsibilities
• Awareness of computer system developments and applications or training that could assist in this role
• Prepares, creates and distributes function invitation and co-ordinates replies and function activities
• Ensures catering is done to the requirements for meetings, co-functions, seminars, etc.
• Keeps departmental diary up to date and co-ordinate scheduled meetings, presentations, conference/seminars
• Discretion and confidentiality of utmost importance

This position is at a Band 8 level, reporting into the Manager – Amandelbult Concentrators.

Qualifications
You must have:

• Grade 12
• PA or Secretarial qualification or equivalent
• Passed Secretarial specific training module for operation of the relevant computer systems and communication systems
• Valid driving license Code 8, preferably with your own vehicle

Experience, knowledge and skills

• At least 2 - 5years business experience in an administrative / secretarial environment
• Excellent Communication
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams)

Job Description

• The operational risk management (ORM) business process is a key business process supporting the achievement of operational objectives at Anglo American Platinum (AAP) operations. The Operational Risk function with AAP supports the organisations capability to manage risk and exploit opportunities.

Below are some of the Operational Risk Officer responsibilities;

• Plan, implement and coordinate the implementation of ORM to all aspects of the operational risk profile
• Support and coordinate the application of the ORM four layers of risk management at the operation
• Implement and execute operationally against the integrated risk management framework operational risk management processes, systems, standards and procedures
• Implement and maintain the functioning of operational risk management IT Platform
• Plan and implement the Annual Operational Risk Programme and ensure support managerial oversight of the delivery of operational risk targets and key results areas
• Advise the operation on required skills development to enhance the skills and competencies of employees and contractors to achieve excellence in operational risk management
• Report, monitor and track operational risk performance to risk management role holders and operational management and leaders
• Provide risk based operational input to operation to ensure management of material risks, audit results and Learning from Incidents
• Routinely advise operational line role holders, managers and leaders operational risk performance and necessary actions
• Support required integration of operational risk management into leading operational practices and programs such as the Operating Model, incident investigation and assurance practices

This role is at a D1 level and will report to the Operational Risk Superintendent

Qualifications

• A minimum of a National Diploma level in a relevant discipline or equivalent (such as Safety, Health, Environment, Science, Engineering, Chemistry or other related careers). Applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree will be advantageous.
• Preferable requirement: Courses in management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001); SHE Risk Management related courses; and SHE ISO Implementation, and ISO auditing qualifications.

Experience:

• Detailed understanding of the Platinum value chain and operational trends and risks
• Minimum of 1 year (preferred above 3 years) relevant operational chemistry, processing, and engineering related experience
• An understanding of the operational aspects associated with mining operations
• Demonstrated understanding of risk management within a technical environment
• Knowledge and experience with risk assessment techniques such as various levels of Risk Assessments, Bow-tie Analysis, HIRA/SLAM/PTRA, and other industry recognized techniques and tools
• Track record of interfacing with and influencing colleagues and coordinating disciplines relevant to risk management

Additional requirements:

• Knowledge of safety, health and environment policies, procedures
• important role of consistently demonstrating required behaviours and championing safety values
• Desirable: Ability to use operational risk management system for input and data analysis (e.g.: Enablon, Bowtie XP, Isometrix, etc.)
• Translate recommendations into tangible operational outcomes.
• Must be computer literate (MS Office suite etc.)
