    Audit Inspector: IT Focus

    • A well-established financial services business is seeking to appoint an Audit Inspector: IT Focus
    • This position, which reports to the Team Leader in the Inspections Department, requires wide knowledge of and experience in external audit and Information Technology (IT) audit, performing robust inspections of audit firms’ quality management systems and financial statement audits.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • CA (SA) who trained in public practice (external audit) with at least 6 years post qualification experience in external statutory audits.
    • RA registration / Eligibility to register as an RA is advantageous.
    • Private sector / IFRS audit experience essential.
    • At a minimum, a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification with full ISACA membership (CPD up to date).
    • At least 5 years IT Audit related experience within an external audit firm.
    • Quality control reviews or audit technical support will be advantageous.
    • Minimum at a Senior Manager level or equivalent position in an auditing environment.
    • Excellent technical knowledge and experience in auditing and financial reporting standards.
    • Be able to critically analyse the performance of Information Technology General Controls and
    • Application control audits against information technology industry standards and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
    • The candidate should also have a good understanding of current and emerging technologies used in the audit process for risk assessment and/or to gather audit evidence (e.g., data query and analysis, automation and robotics technologies, blockchain technologies).

    Technical Lead :SRC Research

    • A well-established business is seeking to appoint a Technical Lead :SRC Research
    • Responsible to provide leadership regarding implementation of end-user facing high performance computing (HPC) resources, which are aggregated under the (SRC)
    • The role will formulate roadmaps for the necessary technological systems, use cases and applications of the end-user facing HPC resources

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree (NQF9) in engineering, computer science, data science, astronomy or physics
    • PhD/D.Eng or related field with 7+ years

    Experience:

    • 10 years of involvement in deployment and operation of HPC systems in environments for enabling science projects (e.g., in data-intensive fields such astronomy, physics, climate modelling, etc.)
    • 5 years of direct involvement in international scientific research collaborations where the candidate has led teams that are involved in the collaborations and has produced documentation related to technical, scientific and best-practice aspects of projects.

    Knowledge:

    • Strong understanding of strengths and weaknesses of various business models of deploying and hosting HPC infrastructure (e.g., self-hosted, third-party provided)
    • Knowledge of data movement challenges and applicable solutions for handling data in globally distributed research environments
    • Knowledge of data storage, compute and memory challenges and applicable solutions for handling diverse scientificworkflows.
    • Sound understanding of technologies and services for enabling usage of HPC resources for analysing, visualising and extracting insights from science data products.
    • Ability to lead teams in delivery of innovative solutions through their lifecycle from experimentation to production environments

    Qualification:

    • Expert knowledge of National Heritage Resources act 25, 1999. South African Heritage Resources Agency Guidelines.
    • Burra Charter, Venice Charter, South African Museums Association Guidelines for Best Practice, People and Financial Management.
