Key Performance Outputs

The successful candidate, reporting to the CEO and will be responsible for the following:
The successful candidate, reporting to the Group Manager Enterprise Asset Management and will be responsible for the following:

• · Support the development of a strategy for integrated infrastructure and asset management, ensuring sustainability
• Develop / Adopt/ Entrench Civil engineering standards and frameworks for general infrastructure development.
• Develop/ Adopt civil engineering standards and best practices to guide relevant project implementations
• Serve as the Senior Civil Engineer for related maintenance activities
• Lead and review designs for all airports pavements, civil and building works materials
• Engage in projects from conceptualisation to implementation and maintenance, which includes providing of civil engineering support for projects
• Drawing up of project specific standards, controlling quality during design; preparing budget estimates and involvement in procurement
• Adhere to all relevant statutory regulations; Ensure compliance contract management
• Assist with the building of technical competence by providing Civil l Engineering Leadership in the adoption of new technologies and best practices, as well providing direct mentoring of Engineers and Technicians in training.
• Manage maintenance CAPEX projects in line with set standards.
• Ensure financial management by compiling business case for capital approvals; determine project costs and report on budget variances

• Build, support and maintain healthy and diverse internal and external relationships.

Technical Skills and Experience

The successful candidate must have the following:

• 4 year Degree in B.Sc. or B.Eng. (Hons) / B .Tech is essential. (Civil Engineering)
• Minimum of 8-10 years Engineering and Contract Management for Operations is essential
• 3 years’ experience in People and Stakeholder management is essential
• 1 year experience in the Airport environment is recommended
• ECSA registration recommended;
• SAICE Membership is recommended
• Engineering Design, Project and Contract management are essential for this position as well as sound knowledge of Engineering Standards and best practice
• Code B driver’s License
• MS Office- Advanced is required
