    Student Recruitment Manager

    Job description

    The key objective is to design and implement the WeThinkCode_’s overall student recruitment marketing strategy, under the direction of the Chief People Officer and in collaboration with the Talent Manager. This includes designing the 2017 student strategic recruitment plan for Cape Town and Johannesburg campuses, producing appropriate marketing tools to influence prospective students to apply to WeThinkCode_, building relationships with high schools, universities and other organisations across South Africa to recruit top candidates, focusing on generating leads and converting them into applicants and enrolled students through first-rate affinity marketing techniques.

    The role also involves managing the gathering and use of data to inform the CPO and contribute to decision-making concerning WeThinkCode_ recruitment plan and brand awareness with the youth.

    The ideal candidate has significant experience working in a marketing role in a busy environment. He/she has a sound understanding of the education landscape in South Africa as well as proven project management, planning and organising skills. She/he is self-motivated, and has excellent administrative and organizational skills including the ability to time manage and work under pressure. Finally she/he is passionate about WeThinkCode_'s mission and is able to remain flexible and wear many hats to help meet growing and changing needs of a start up.

    Main duties:

    • Design an annual student recruitment marketing plan to support agreed targets for WeThinkCode_ Johannesburg and Cape Town campuses.
    • Ensure clear measures are in place to report against agreed recruitment targets and the marketing tactics that deliver them.
    • Establish and implement a CRM plan, using the full marketing mix, targeting prospective students from the point of enquiry through to enrolment with a clear focus on conversion targets.
    • Produce with WTC marketing agency an annual suite of online and offline recruitment tools, with particular focus on the motivations and information needs of the target market and the balance between print, on-line content as well as open days and school visits.
    • Ensure campaigns and CRM activities support WeThinkCode_ different recruitment targets with a clear understanding of the needs and motivations of each target market.
    • Manage sections of the wethincode.co.za website that are relevant to prospective students and decision makers.
    • Ensure clarity/suitability of positioning and key messages and the production of relevant and effective recruitment tools.
    • Develop effective online targeting/relationship build with target schools and colleges across South
    • Africa, with a focus on Gauteng and Cape Town area.
    • Work with Life Administrator in the co-ordination and attendance at recruitment events with a particular focus on lead generation and conversion.
    • Develop good awareness of competitive landscape with a focus on overall recruitment positioning and benchmarking of competitor marketing tactics
    • Keep abreast of new marketing techniques that will appeal to your target audiences
    • Produce reports analyzing marketing metrics, trends/recruitment progress as required

    Skills and experience needed:

    • Significant experience working in a marketing role in a busy environment.
    • A sound understanding of the education landscape in South Africa.
    • Proven project management, planning and organising skills.
    • Highly developed communication abilities, with strong and demonstrable public speaking skills.
    • An ability to develop and foster relationships, and build partnerships with external organisations a communities.
    • Excellent administrative and organizational skills including the ability to time manage and work under pressure.
    • High level of computing skills and experience of Microsoft Office packages.
    • Self-motivated and able to meet agreed objectives on own initiative.
    • Events management experience.
    • Experience of affinity marketing/CRM/digital marketing.
    • Experience of communicating with and influencing complex stakeholder groups.
    • Proven project management experience.
    • Orientation toward results.
    • The highest levels of integrity at all times.
    • Strong organizational and management skills.
    • Data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
    • Ability to take responsibility for several tasks simultaneously, and see them through to completion.
    • Working with young people.
