    Assistant Professional Officer - Street People Unit

    Requirements

    • A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification preferably a B-Degree or National Diploma.
    • 1 to 3 years relevant experience.
    • A valid code EB drivers licence
    • Computer literacy (Advanced MS Office skills).
    • Prepared to work weekends, in various geographic locations throughout the City and outside of normal working hours.
    • A third preferably local language will be an advantage.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Implements and executes activities that support the Departments’ operations and services as determined by its Street People Policy and the Area-based Service Delivery Model of the City.
    • Supervises fieldworkers work schedules aligned to their provision of development services that contribute to the quality of life of vulnerable people in communities at an individual and collective level with particular emphasis on homeless people and people living on streets.
    • Supports the delegated authority by supervising human resources and OHSA policy and procedure compliances.
    • Executes administrative functions associated with compiling, tracking and reporting on the development services, programmes and interventions of the Department.
    • Engages and establishes continuous, open communications with all interested and affected internal and external stakeholders about relevant common interests.
    • Facilitates and implements approved Community, Arts & Culture development programmes within the Area.
    • Ensures accurately recorded, protected, maintained and managed physical assets assigned to the Area.
