At least 8 years relevant experience in Water & Sanitation Infrastructure Engineering.
Registration as professional with ECSA; Pr Eng/ Pr Tech Eng.
A valid driver's licence.

Key Performance Areas
Manage compilation of capital and operating budgets for the full provision and maintenance of basic services in the specific geographical region.
Initiating and implementing effective budget control measures.
Manage a professional team to ensure efficient identification of capital items to be included in the annual budget and the implementation of the projects, by managing the identification of projects for capital budget in compliance with the Service Delivery Budget Implementation Plan (SDBIP).
Overseeing the management of Project Managers, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers and Depot Superintendents in accordance
with relevant policies, Contract management procedures and established timeframes, in compliance with any funding source requirements.
Manages the installation and maintenance of toilets and standpipes (water and sanitation services) to informal settlements by coordinating, developing, implementing and managing effective capital and operational programmes in conjunction with other stakeholders (both internal as well as external), based on the identified needs of the communities within the Informal Settlements, in addressing the backlogs with respect to water and sanitation.
Determining staffing levels based on actual demand and preparing motivations for the filling of vacancies in the region.
Manage the Individual Performance Management of those reporting to the position.
Contribute to the development of effective strategic plans, policy and procedures, by providing input to relevant strategic role players based on statistics and community requirements.
Overseeing the investigation and assessment of the maintenance and installation of water and sanitation services within the Informal Settlements.
Ensuring that effective forward planning is in place to deal with demand through the analysis of community growth.
Assessing current levels of services related to provision of water and sanitation services relative to national norms and standards. Assessment input into forward planning.
Developing, evaluating and commenting on key performance indicators for the branch.
Facilitating meetings between all relevant stakeholders (both internal and external) to determine the short- and long-term needs of the various communities and then developing implementation strategies and construction of tracks.
Interacting with National Department of Water and Sanitation, Councillors, Tertiary Institutions, politicians, community leaders, internal role players, Provincial Administration, Department of environmental Affairs and Financial institutions etc (local and international).
