    Human Resource Clerk: PERSAL and Establishment Control (2 Posts Available), Ref No. DOTP 54/2025

    Job Purpose

    • The Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government, is looking for two (2) individuals to provide clerical and administrative support in the PERSAL and Establishment Control Unit.
    • This role forms part of the Corporate Service Centre (CSC), which delivers shared services to 11 departments.
    • Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).

    Recommendation

    • PERSAL Introduction certificate
    • Experience/Exposure to the following: PERSAL Establishment environment, PERSAL user support environment, database administration, working with PERSAL training interventions
    • Experience in the Corporate Services Centre environment and rendering services to multiple Client Departments
    • A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.
    • NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

    Key Performance Areas

    • PERSAL user access support and data capturing: Assist with PERSAL user access and related enquiries (e.g. resets, activations, deactivations).
    • Support training interventions by capturing training outcomes and maintaining training databases
    • Post establishment support: Provide administrative support for post establishment functions such as the creation, abolishment and reservation of posts
    • Assist with staff placement processes
    • General office administration: Perform routine administrative tasks including filing, managing emails, photocopying, and document handling
    • Record-keeping and compliance: Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant government policies and procedures
    • Clerical and administrative support: Assist with queries, ensure data accuracy and integrity and provide quality customer service
    • Liaise with internal clients (CSC departments) to support service delivery.

    Competencies

    Good understanding of the following:

    • Storage and retrieval procedures in terms of the working environment, PERSAL or similar system user support
    • Ability to capture data; Establishment administration on PERSAL or similar system.

    Skills needed:

    • Proven computer literacy (MS Office)
    • Written and verbal communication
    • Good planning and organising skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
