The IIE Varsity College, Pietermaritzburg Campus has a vacancy for a Lecturer (Independent Contractor) in the School of Education for second semester in 2023.

• TIP Social Sciences 2B: TISS6212

• Understanding of customer service in education
• Demonstrate an ability to manage work and self proactively

Minimum Education Requirements:

• B.Ed. Honours degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (at NQF level 8) or Humanities/Arts/Social Sciences Honours degree
• The undergraduate or postgraduate qualification must include a module on Teaching and Learning/Pedagogy.
• The undergraduate qualification or postgraduate qualification must include Social Sciences or component subjects like History and Geography to at least NQF level 6 (usually the 2nd year of study).

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• Teaching experience is required.
• School teaching experience in Social Sciences (or component subjects – e.g. History and Geography) is required. 
• Ideally, lecturing experience at tertiary level.
• Previous lecturing experience within tertiary environment is advantageous.
• Current industry knowledge is essential.
