Pumpstation Operator at Thabazimbi Local Municipality

• BASIC SALARY: Post Level 13 (R157 979,64) per annum. Additional benefits attached to the position are as follows: ((i) Medical aid cover is subsidized by 60% of the total contribution for family members; (ii) Pension fund contribution by Municipality is 18% of basic salary; (iii) Housing subsidy is available on repayment of a bond provided that the house is registered in the name of the employee.
• MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Grade 10 or equivalent. Plant Operator Certificate will be an added advantage.
• EXPERIENCE: 2 years minimum relevant working experience.
• KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Operation of sewer/ waste water pumps to ensure that the pumpstation works optimally. Opening/closing valves to specific limits to control levels and regulate flow from/ to storage units. Clearing and unblocking inlets, outlets, valves, filters and connections, removing debris using hand held tools and pressurized water systems to remove/ flush blockages. Safekeeping of hand tools and/or apparatus used in the process.
