    Section Manager P&O Kolomela

    Job Description:

    As our Section Manager P&O Kolomelayour responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    • Participate in developing safety and health principles and embed them into P&O programmes and culture development.
    • Take personal responsibility for the safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and eliminate fatalities.
    • Function as a role model and reinforce a workplace culture where safety and health for the site are paramount.

    Provide an environment for on-site discipline to challenge and act on unsafe behaviours without repercussions.

    • Support the site leadership team in embedding critical controls into daily work practices.
    • Assess the safety leadership capabilities of direct reports and the capability and potential of the broader teams of safety specialists and line management.
    • Conduct physical safety checks, interventions, and coaching.
    • Active participation in VFLs, Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.

    Performance and Delivery

    • Manage the effective scoping, planning and delivery of P&O specialist support and services within their area of responsibility.
    • Coordinate inputs into and participation with relevant P&O processes for the operation (including employee relations, development, organisational effectiveness, transformation, performance management, and reward processes).
    • Provide support and guidance for effective workforce planning and resourcing requirements to a defined level within the Operation environment.
    • Ensure that structures and roles within the operation are well defined and clarified, and that competencies and learning paths are developed according to requisite organisation theory and practice.
    • Coordinate and manage the implementation of talent management audit, IDP process, and department action plans with the relevant P&O Advisor and the Assessment Advisor.
    • Coordinate and manage the implementation of the performance management process in association with the relevant P&O Advisor and the Specialist Remuneration.
    • Assist in maintaining sound employee relations through continuous coaching, consulting, negotiating, and counselling with various stakeholders.
    • Manage the delivery of P&O services such as manpower planning, recruitment, performance management, reward, management of incapacity cases and employee relations through technical proficiency.
    • Participate and identify cost-saving initiatives within the area of control.
    • Manage and approve budgetary expenditures within authorisation limits.
    • Analyse data and determine improvement and development areas within the P&O value chain.
    • Refine an improvement plan to address development areas and track and report progress.
    • Implement and facilitate climate and cultural interventions for the operation.
    • Implement and facilitate organisational effectiveness and transformational strategy.
    • Identify continuous improvement projects that will enable the P&O fraternity to provide excellent P&O support and maintain a strategic business partnership with management.

    This role is in People & Organisation (P&O) NC on a band 6 level (D4/D5) reporting to Manager, People & Organisation

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent /B Tech (NQF7)
    • Honours Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent (NQF8) – Advantageous
    • SA Drivers Licence

    Technical Knowledge

    • 6-8 years of relevant experience in Manpower Budgeting, Organisation & Job Design, Resourcing, Performance Management, Career and Succession Planning, HRD, Employee relations, and Consequence Management.
    • Knowledge and competence in SAP HR and MS Office.
    • Knowledge in leading teams, including coordinating knowledge sharing across the P&O discipline, managing workload, and reviewing the work of others to ensure consistency with task requirements.
    • A consistently excellent example of safety practices, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the critical importance of safety knowledge.
