To assume responsibility for leading the team in finding and reporting defects within the software, to validate that our products and ensure that they meet the highest quality standards before deployment
To guide, support and develop the QA team.
Responsibilities:
Implement fit-for-purpose methodologies to ensure that quality product is delivered.
Plan the testing process for the project timelines to ensure that there is no gap on the application testing.
Ensure system testing, integration testing and customer acceptance training is completed timeously, to deliver a tested, high-quality product.
Complete test reporting and documentation.
Comprehensive reporting to all stakeholders and storage of information on the relevant systems.
Collaborate with and support all stakeholders with the resolution of defects. A timeous and complete defect resolution process implemented. The service level agreement utilized to determine the effectiveness of the process.
Manage the Change Approval Board (CAB) process to ensure that no patch/update is deployed without the development passing the CAB approval.
Manage the process by reviewing all deployments on a weekly basis to ensure that testing was conducted and passed. If testing wasn’t passed, roll back to development team.
Lead, coach, manage and develop the team to ensure quality and timeous delivery of projects.
Experience and Qualifications
Relevant Degree – B.Sc. IT, B. Com IT, B. Com IM.
International Software Testing Qualification Board.
Middle Management Programme would be an advantage.
Skilled on Word, Excel and Outlook.
Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including software documenting and reporting.
Experience in application of both manual and automated testing.
Knowledge of automation testing software, preferably Selenium.
Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. AZURE, HPQC).
Proven experience in automation of test suites for regression testing of Front and Back end of the product with ability to cover all web browser testing.
In-depth understanding of root cause analysis in a software development environment with the ability to assign a defect priority.
Experience with technical, functional, usability, regression testing methods, white box, black box, alpha and beta.
