Job Advert Summary    

• A vacancy exists for a Shift Manager in the Cold Store / Logistics / Dispatch Department at our Mahikeng Processing Plant. The successful candidate will assist in managing the operations of the department during their shift, ensuring efficiency, safety, adherence to standard operating procedures, and the motivation of staff.

Minimum Requirements    

• Matric (Grade 12) is a minimum requirement.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• A second language will be advantageous.
• Must be computer literate, with working knowledge of email and Excel.
• Knowledge of Syspro, Translution and Tereoka will be advantageous
• Good working understanding and use of scanner.
• Ability to work in a freezer environment
• Must be in good health and able to work in a cold environment.
• Ability to work shifts, including day and night rotations.
• Prior experience in a cold store, logistics, or dispatch environment will be advantageous.
• Strong people management and motivational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Oversee all operations during the allocated shift within the Cold Store / Logistics / Dispatch department.
• Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are always followed.
• Monitor and enforce Health and Safety procedures and standards.
• Staff management (Discipline of employees)
• Provide leadership, motivation, and supervision to employees during the shift.
• Ensure that all processes are adhered to throughout shift operations.
• Communicate effectively with other departments and shift managers to ensure operational continuity.
• Daily inspection in -20 holding room
• Complete shift reports and assist with recordkeeping and stock control.
• Operate and work with computer systems, email, and Excel as part of daily responsibilities.
• Report directly to the Cold Store Manager.
