Responsibility:

Safety, Health and Environment

• ·       Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act

Production

• Oversee the effectiveness of production plan ensure continuous improvement to optimize profitability
• Ensure optimal and cost-effective utilization of labour and plant in mining activities
   

Labour Management

• Ensure compliance with HRM strategy
• Drive performance management culture on site
   

Minimum Requirements:

• National Senior Certificate
• National Diploma or B Degree in Mining
• Must have a Mine Manager Certificate (Government Certificate of Competency)
• Tertiary managerial qualification will be advantageous
• At least 10 years’ experience open cast mining environment
• Previous track record in a managerial position is required

Knowledge / Competencies /Abilities:

• Candidates must have a valid driver’s license
• Fully bilingual
• Must be medically fit and pass a medical examination as required from the designated mines
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines
