Test Analyst (Junior) at Discovery Limited

The primary role of the position will be the test planning, execution and reporting on software developed for system generated notifications. Record defects, problems and environmental issues on the defect-tracking tool. Complete the objectives of each assignment within the agreed timeframe.

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

Planning

• Ensure that the workload assigned to you achievable
• Provide Test Estimates for your Assigned Stories
• Add all required Testing Tasks to the Scrum Board for each story
• Review Acceptance Criteria of all assigned stories
• Ensure that all Requirements are added to QC for each story
• Script Test Cases for all stories into QC
• Map Test Cases to Requirements
• Ensure that your test cases are reviewed and signed off by the BA
• Ensure that your test cases conform to the approved Test Case format for Automation
• Ensure that the necessary Test Data is created for your Test Cases
• Ensure that all environmental setup/configuration is done for Testing
• Peer Review Test Analyst’s test cases
• Apply Multiple Testing techniques and efficiencies
• Create and Implement Test Plans for a Scheduled Release and/or Small Project

Execution

• Ensure that all Test Cases are executed for Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 within the required timelines
• Test Cases Execution Rate should conform to the approved Execution Rate standards
• Ensure that the necessary Test Evidence is included in QC for every test run.
• Ensure that Defects are logged for all failed test cases
• Ensure that the defect conforms to the approved Defect format for QC
• Retest all defects immediately after they are resolved and deployed to the environment
• Escalate all showstopper defects to the Test Lead/Dev Manager
• Ensure that you run Cycle 2/Regression around the feature once all defects have been resolved
• Zero high impact defects in Production
• Provide Support to UAT team during UAT Execution
• Raise all Risks with the Test Lead and/or Dev Manager
• Provide Risk migration options
• Raise all Scope Creep/Change in Scope to the Test Lead and/or Dev Manager
• Provide Impact analysis on the current work load

Meetings

• Daily Scrum Meetings
• Attend all relevant Stand ups
• Daily Catch Up with Test Leads
• Represent Critical Issues at Status Meetings

Knowledge Sharing

• Ensure that you share knowledge with at least 2 team mates per a month
• Ensure that you gain knowledge of at least 2 Systems a months
• Ensure that you create KT documents and share these on the Testing Confluence Site

Experience

• 3 – 5 years’ experience working as Test Analyst with significant exposure within the SDLC, specifically Agile software development through the Scrum Methodology in the Financial Services / Insurance Industry
• 1 – 2 years’ Automation Testing experience will be advantageous
• Experience with regression, usability, sanity and functional testing methods
