    Veterinary Public Health Officer

    REQUIREMENTS :

    • Grade 12 plus an appropriate NQF level 6 qualification in Environmental Health / Animal Health / Veterinary Public Health or equivalent appropriate tertiary qualification as recognised by SAQA. Minimum of 1-2 years appropriate experience within Veterinary Public Health environment. Valid registration with the relevant Health Professions Council for South Africa (HPCSA) / South African Veterinary Council is compulsory. A valid driver’s licence (with the exception of people with disabilities).
    • Knowledge, Competencies and Skills: Computer literate. Knowledge of Quality management system. Investigation skills. Diagnostic skills. Communication skills. Report writing. Analytical skills. Interpretation skills. Interpersonal Skills. 

    DUTIES :

    • Conduct inspection of abattoir / slaughter facilities. Conduct veterinary public health training and awareness. Conduct audits of slaughter facilities. Perform administrative and related functions.
