    Supervisor: Production - Port Elizabeth

    Purpose of Role:

    To ensure that production is maintained within budget and to specifications and in accordance with the required quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Operate machines / equipment in accordance with safe work instructions. Adhere to safety and housekeeping as per company procedures and OHS Act requirements including its associated regulations.
    • Production: Daily scheduling of production activities for maximizing production, quality / output KPI’s and on time deliveries.
    • Production: Report any and all delays in achieving daily targets, machine breakdowns and deliveries and take action where targets are not met.
    • Production: Ensuring schedule adherence is consistently above 95%.
    • Management: Performance manage those subordinates that do not meet the targets.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • Relevant National Diploma or one - three year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    Technician Assistant - Mokopane

    Purpose of Role:

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in carrying out repairs and maintenance on Weir equipment on customer sites and in the Service Centre workshop.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Service: Assist technicians with carrying out maintenance, repairs, inspections and overhauling on Weir Minerals equipment on customer sites or in the service centre, including assistance with installation and commissioning of pumps and other Weir Minerals products.  General assistance as and when required, including cleaning/prepping of parts, spray painting. Dismantling of pumps and bearing assemblies.  Load and unload trucks and assist with delivery of spares when required.
    • Customer support:  Ability to identify solutions to improve equipment or processes on and off sites

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 / N3 Certificate or any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above
    • Technical knowledge/experience in minerals processing plants will be advantageous
    • Valid driver’s licence

    CIP Facilitator - JHB

    Purpose of Role:

    The successful candidate will manage the enhancement of efficiency and effectiveness  of the business value chain and optimize the work flows, reducing costs and improve quality within various structures of the business.

    Manager: EHS - Port Elizabeth

    Purpose of Role: 

    • An exciting opportunity exists for a SHE Manager, this role will provide local support and guidance to the team at our Foundry located in PE to ensure compliance with legislation and maintaining high safety standards for the Site.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to the development and execution of the company's SHE strategy and Zero Harm Behaviours program. Management of the safety, health, environment and housekeeping in accordance with OHSAS, ISO and Weir group standards and legal requirements in all areas and maintain certification and compliance with the requirements of the ISO45001 and ISO 1400 standards.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to ensure all potential hazards are identified. Recommend risk mitigation measures and oversee their implementation. Assist Line Management in the implementation of documents or required workplace changes to ensure statutory compliance.
    • Assist in the delivery of training programs to ensure staff are aware of, and adhere to, SHE policies and procedures, safety regulations, including, Induction, fire drills, accident prevention. Carry out internal audits as per audit schedule. Provide functional support to Business Units in the development, implementation, testing and review of Site Emergency Plans.
    • Facilitate investigation of incidents, near misses, and any unsafe conditions to determine root cause, contributing factors and corrective actions. Undertake all responsibilities as Injury Management Coordinator for injured workers, supervisors and managers, to ensure effective Return to Work strategies are implemented. Co-ordinate and participate in HSE committee meeting. Compile and provide HSE performance reports and maintain site and departmental specific statistics.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
    Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above;

    • Relevant Qualification: National Safety Diploma /Environmental Health /NEBOSH/ COMSOC
    • Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and ISO 45001, ISO 14001, standards,
    • Internal auditors, HIRA, Root Cause Analysis
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • ICAM and Lead Auditor training desirable

    Executive Assistant - Johannesburg

    Purpose of Role:

    The successful candidate will be responsible for all executive assistant duties to support the Sales; Supply Chain and Manufacturing Directors.

    • 3-5 years related experience in an Engineering manufacturing environment

    Senior Technical Sales Representative - Middelburg

    Purpose of Role:

    The successful candidate will need to be energetic and have a passion for sales.  They should be technically sound, have the ability to promote and generate new business from existing and new customers as well as growing the market share by providing value adding solutions to products and processes for our customers.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering) or any equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 5 – 8 years’ related technical sales experience in minerals processing equipment
    • Valid Driver’s licence – extensive travel to mining locations within the region is required
    • Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite, CRM e.g. Salesforce (ERP Software e.g. SAP is advantageous)
    • Advanced knowledge of full Weir product portfolio
    • Manual pump calculations experience (Weir products is advantageous)
    • Technical report writing experience
    • Demonstrate understanding of TCO and Integrated Solutions and track record of implementation
    • Proven sales track record
    • You will be a proactive, confident and self-motivated individual that takes pride in the quality of work you deliver with the ability to work under pressure. You should possess strong communication, presentation, technical selling and negotiation skills and exceptional customer relationship building skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and honour customer commitments.  You should also have the ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner.
