    Client Service Senior Manager

    Job Description And Responsibilities

    This is an individual contributor role for a seasoned professional responsible for solving complex operational problems with designated clients and taking a broad perspective to identify clients operational performance improvement opportunities and adoption of innovative solutions implementation. This role serves as a functional specialist also focusing on building and extending client relations operational and works independently with limited supervision and guidance only in the most complex situations.

    • Acts as liaison for an assigned client(s) in the South / Southern Africa region providing proactive identification of processing efficiencies, service change support and system enhancement support.
    • Considered the functional expert for designated clients processing and operational business.
    • Responsible for managing projects or processes through coordinating internal resources to accomplish Visa and client objectives and ensure processing system performance standards are met and that the client perspective is represented within the organization.
    • Provide proactive planning and operational support to ensure that both the client and Visa are operating in the most effective and cost-efficient manner while managing costs and increasing overall transaction performance including authorization, clearing and settlement, back-office processing.
    • Stay current with industry and client trends and maintain a strong knowledge of Visa products and services. Represent complex customer change requests, system or operational requirements negotiate and manage expectations internally and externally.
    • Contribute to and manage execution of cluster or sub regional country strategy, operational initiatives, special projects and client driven continuous improvement plans.
    • Identify and analyze processing issues with client impacts consistently communicate situational status and resolution advise on SLA performance both internally and externally and develop improvement plans to address chronic client problems.
    • Support quarterly business enhancement releases as well as all other Visa mandates and requirements fulfilment.
    • Perform ongoing proactive operational reviews with designated clients.
    • Partner with assigned Account Executives to identify additional business opportunities.
    • Identify opportunities leading to improved processing efficiency as well as increased revenue for both the Client, as well as Visa.
    • Advocate Visa Value added Services (VAS) by identifying opportunities to cross/up sell to the benefit of the client.

    Qualifications

    • 8 years of success in client facing roles in the Card Payments Technology industry.
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent graduate degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology
    • Expert knowledge of Electronic Cards Payment Industry systems, Visa systems including authorization and clearing systems, client connectivity, etc.

    Finance Manager, West Africa

    Job Description And Responsibilities

    The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial health of our operations in the West Africa cluster, while being based in Johannesburg SSA Hub Office. This role involves overseeing financial planning, financial analysis, and reporting, managing financial risks, and financial modelling and reviewing of client deals and business cases. The Finance Manager will work closely with the Finance Director based in Nigeria, and report to the SSA Head of Finance, to support West Africa and SSA overall business priorities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Management:

    • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting process for the West Africa cluster.
    • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process for the West Africa cluster.
    • Implement strategies to prevent and resolve bad debts.
    • Provide in-depth support in the areas of revenue management and investment decision.
    • Participate in continuous improvement activities to meet or exceed internal customers’ expectations.

    Revenue Analytics and Business Partnering:

    • Lead the analysis of key business drivers for strategic planning, annual budgeting, and quarterly forecasting for the West Africa cluster.
    • Actively engage in the modelling and review of client deals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the company's financial goals and strategies.
    • Identify and analyze potential opportunities and risks in client deals, providing actionable insights for decision-making.

    Compliance and Governance:

    • Ensure deals and approval-to-spend requests are captured, recorded, summarized, and reported in compliance with policies and procedures.
    • Ensure data integrity and consistency of information as well as organized documentation of all financial assumptions, results and data sources used.
    • Provide advisory and guidance to business partners on deals structuring, of their approved budgets and forecasts, and their commitment to budget/forecast on a continuous basis.

    Relationship Management:

    • Partner with business and regional teams to ensure alignment on financial performance and the drivers of forecasts and results.
    • Demonstrate strong sense of urgency when preparing and evaluating multiple incentive deals, and proactively align priorities with West Africa Cluster Head on a weekly basis.
    • Build and maintain relationships with finance business partners in SSA and CEMEA Hub, to ensure they are aware of the latest deals’ timelines, risks/opportunities, and how we plan to quickly mitigate or leverage them respectively.

    • Deliver financial excellence and drive business growth in the West Africa cluster.
    • Ensure alignment on financial performance and the drivers of forecasts and results.
    • Maintain compliance with policies and procedures and reporting requirements.
    • Build and maintain relationships with finance business partners in SSA and CEMEA.

    Qualifications

    Leadership:

    • 7-10 years of work experience and a bachelor’s degree or 5 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA).
    • Proactive, high-energy, and motivated team player.
    • Strong communication skills and creates deep relationships across the business and communicates effectively with executive management.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • Able to work cross-functionally, geographically, and with virtual teams while promoting a culture of openness, trust, and flexibility.

    Technical:

    • Degree in Accounting or professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) is preferred.
    • Strong FP&A skills: Experience in forecasting based on trends, historical data, current market conditions, and strategic plans. Proficient in developing and managing revenue budgets. Proven ability to analyze financial data and succinctly summarize for non-Finance audience. Experienced in working with financial models.
    • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required and experience in Power BI is desirable. IBM Cognos TM1 and Hyperion experience would be an advantage. Conceptual knowledge of financial databases is beneficial.

    Business:

    • Financial/commercial analysis/FP&A experience from within a large, multi-national, publicly traded corporation.
    • Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills, able to resolve tough business problems with well-structured analyses.
    • Must be detail-oriented and possess good prioritization skills to ensure relevancy, accuracy, and quality of output.

    Visa Commercial Solutions - Senior Business Development Manager

    Job Description And Responsibilities

    The role is a combination of a sales function and product delivery and will require the individual to onboard more clients onto Visa Commercial Solutions (Small Business, Middle Market and Large Clients). The individual will lead all market development activities across their allocated portfolio and their identified SSA initiatives to drive expansion of Visa Commercial Solutions with new partners and new revenue pools and win new accounts through building stronger relationships with existing and new partners.

    Being a global payments technology company, we must be agile enough to deliver across SSA. Portfolio allocation is subject to change to ensure that Visa Commercial Solutions meets business objectives and SSA business demand.

    In order to operate successfully, the individual will be required to demonstrate experienced knowledge of commercial payments or related B2B industries and be effective in strategic, solutions-based selling across all levels, including decision makers. The individual will also need to have passion for building relationships with all the myriad of internal and external constituents. The role will report to the Director, Head of Visa Commercial Solutions, South Africa.

    This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of 5 to 10 years experience with related business development and product management experience in financial technology and/or payments industry, across the small business and large to middle market client segment.
    • Past or current work experience with a minimum of 3 to 5 years in Commercial Card Issuing and Acquiring, Transaction Banking Solutions and SME banking preferred
    • An Africa mindset with demonstrated success aligning stakeholders in multiple countries
    • Proven record of implementing strategic initiatives
    • Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing a complex, competitive sales effort and managing deals from negotiation, to closing and through delivery
    • Teamwork, interpersonal & relationship-building skills, and ability to lead by influence and example
    • Confidence in building management Level communications and delivering presentations
    • Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, and to influence management and other relevant parties
    • Product management subject matter expert with experience in developing and deploying go to market strategy for payment solutions or technology a plus
    • Demonstrated experience in selling complex solutions or B2B product consulting
    • Strong trouble shooting/problem solving skills
    • MBA or Masters is an added advantage
    • Strong written and oral communication, including large-group presentations
