    Senior Safety Specialist

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

    As the Specialist of the Group Safety function, the role design, optimize, integrate, improve and maintain global safety frameworks, standards; guidelines, procedures; processes, and systems. Other key aspects include to ensure that processes exist that ensures that key safety risks are identified, assessed, prioritized and managed in a safe and responsible manner, providing assurance on the effectiveness of implementation of the AGA group safety Integrated Management System and providing direction and technical guidance with respect to safety management to business units and operating entities. This work is done in support of the Head of Safety and Health, while also satisfying the Board’s governance and assurance requirements in respect of company-wide health and safety management, reporting and mitigation.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Diploma in Occupational Safety or in a relevant technical discipline (mining, metallurgical, engineering) discipline. Competent in an advanced incident investigation technique
    • Minimum eight (8) years progressive Safety Management experience in mining or other heavily engineered infrastructure industry
    • Minimum three (5) years managing safety affairs in an Operational or Regional context
    • Minimum two (5) years applied experience in qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methodologies and tools
    • Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining ISO45001 compliant safety management systems in a multi-site operating context, including development of Region wide safety procedures, practices, and process
    • Applied work experience in leading and facilitating baseline, issue-based, job-task, pre-job, and personal risk assessments
    • Demonstrated success in formulating behavior and process-based safety programs across multiple, global &/or multi-site operating entities
    • Experience working independently, in teams as a team member and team leader, and in a virtual setting

    ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Work Accountabilities

    • Define and develop (in consultation with Business Units and Operations) safety standards, frameworks, programs and initiatives for companywide adoption.
    • Identify and develop (in consultation with Business Units) safety initiatives to support the safety & health strategy;
    • Further develop the integrated safety & health management system and measure the effectiveness, level of implementation, and conformity to corporate safety standards and ISO45001 criteria at operations.
    • Govern and develop Group-wide safety risk and critical control management processes
    • Provide advice to the business on safety matters, global practices, emerging trends and safety technology interventions.
    • Conduct / participate in internal audit program against management system standards and local plans based upon annual plan, emerging trends, or change in risk profile e.g. Internal Audit, Combined Assurance and Project Scoping Reviews.
    • Maintain systems ensuring that safety hazards, risks, and controls are consistently identified, assessed, prioritised, and managed
    • Define and continually improve key internal audit protocols to ensure relevance
    • Define safety education and training content requirements (including mandatory training). Deliver training on key safety programs where the need arises. Endorse third party vendors that can train key safety training programs. Oversee development of group wide safety training programs as required and provide guidance on integration into existing programs
    • Develop safety incident response and investigation standards and procedures. Assist, lead, &/or facilitate major & extreme related incident investigations in accordance with AGA methodology.
    • Integrate safety in organisational culture initiatives for the group.
    • Execute the design for safety technology (for build by IT) sharing across the company
    • Provide technical support to external industry bodies, such as ICMM Working Group, Minerals Council, etc.
    • Implement a system for the effective sharing of safety technology and innovation for potential adoption at operations
    • Provide technical support and advice to Operational Health & Safety personnel in the execution of safety activities and obligations
    • Assist, lead, and/or facilitate incident investigations in accordance with AGA methodology
    • Champion Safety Hazard and Risk Management (HARM) initiatives, including enterprise, baseline, issue-based, job task, pre-job, and personal risk assessment programs

    Head of Global Mobility

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

    • Lead the coordination and delivery of the Global Mobility function.
    • Partner with key stakeholders within the business to drive mobility, advising on the mobility strategy, standards, technical guidelines, processes and compensation approaches, to ensure global consistency.
    • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders with particular focus on vendor relationships and SLA’s.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Relevant degree in Human Resources, Taxation or Finance.
    • Global Mobility Professional certification would be an advantage.
    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Human Resources, Finance or Taxation.
    • A minimum of 5 years specialist experience in end-to-end Global Mobility management.
      • A proven track record of leading and managing global mobility programmes or an international HR role which has dealt with managing multiple and complex international moves. 
      • Demonstrated skill at articulating, presenting and educating senior management and executives regarding mobility strategies and policies.
      • Experience in leading mobility processes and policy changes in changing business environments.
      • Experience in supporting multiple locations and/or markets in a global organisation.
      • Experience in building relationships in a complex and / or international environment.

    COMPETENCIES:

    • Ensure all mobility policies remain competitive, compliant, and in line with the overall strategies of the company, implementing changes where necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with tax (including corporate tax), social security/ pension and immigration matters associated with international assignment and relocation processes.
    • Effectively manage and reduce costs without compromising the quality of mobility processes.
    • Ensure an environment of first-class governance and controls
    • Accountable for the implementation, administration and reporting of mobility processes and practices, including process improvement and development.
    • Utilise relevant data and insights from internal sources, as well as specialist knowledge, to influence decisions and make recommendations.
    • Manage tools and technology to ensure mobility management processes are simple and efficient.
    • Ensure excellent service delivery to internal clients, developing and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders
    • Ensure excellent employee experiences at all points in the mobility lifecycle, with potential risks effectively managed.
    • Monitor and analyse global mobility trends to anticipate developments that may be relevant. Recommend and implement changes where necessary.
