    Senior Quantitative Analyst

    Job Purpose

    Model Risk Assurance plays a pivotal role in the validation, assurance and governance of non-regulatory risk models, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the bank’s non-regulatory risk models and processes, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the banks risk management framework.

    Performing validation of material non-regulatory models, which includes some of the following models:

    • Credit acquisition(i.e origination models) and pricing 
    • Anti-money laundering (AML)
    • Application fraud 
    • Collections
    • Operational Risk
    • Climate risk (fossil fuel ratios, carbon accounting and stress scenarios) and 
    • Macro-economic models 

    Job Responsibilities

    • Validation of non-regulatory models – This includes quantitative and qualitative validation of the models, the governance as well as the data, together with the application thereof.
    • Subject matter expert - Provide input/assistance in the build and refinement of relevant models.
    • Model replication and reperformance - Independent development of models to assess potential for improvement on existing ones.
    • Challenger models – Independently develop challenger models, to help better understand strengths and shortcomings of “current in use” models.
    • Model Assurance – Ensuring that calculations as well as model outputs, reports and associated commentary are accurate, reliable and fit for their intended purposes.
    • Continuous learning - Keeping abreast with industry best practice as well as cutting edge modelling techniques in order to fulfil the role as a subject matter expert. Conduct research into model development and validation best practice

    Minimum Experience Level

    • 5+ years’ experience in risk, quantitative or treasury modelling, validation environment – with a strong preference for programming in python
    • Statistical or mathematical modelling skills 
    • Programming skills: Python, SAS and  SQL 
    • Matlab ,R, JS or Julia skills would be an added advantage
    • Understanding of credit/financial modelling, scorecards, pricing models, machine learning and AI 
    • Knowledge of banking regulation e.g IFRS 9, Basel etc
    • Knowledge of banking products (e.g vanilla loans, property finance, equities etc)

    Business Analyst III

    Job Purpose

    Quality Assurance Lead (QA Lead)

    Job Purpose

    To Lead the Test Implementation in accordance with the agreed Quality Assurance principles and standards in order to manage the Product risk and inter-dependencies during the Product Life-Cycle. Ensure alignment across Business Analysis, Development, Quality Assurance and Environment to optimise the testing efficiencies across the Product delivery stack.     Risk Intelligence and Reporting Analyst

    Job Purpose

    The Operational Risk Analyst and Reporting uses advanced data analytics techniques to generate reports that provide useful insights to be used in business, strategic and operational risk decision making across Nedbank.

    Job Responsibilities

    Risk Analysis:

    • Be a key role player in the data discovery processes; and collaborate with key stakeholders including Data Managers to consolidate data from different sources.
    • Ensure compliance with IT and data risk management procedures when managing, analysing, and transferring data.
    • Use SAS analytics software and techniques to analyse data related to market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes to identify potential operational risks.
    • Evaluate potential operational risks from data trend analysis and propose mitigation strategies.
    • Analyse and model potential operational risk scenarios to assess their impact on Nedbank's risk profile.
    • Build and maintain risk models to support decision-making and risk quantification.
    • Review Nedbank and Business Unit Plans and ensure the delivered process, services and solutions are aligned to support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values.

    Operational Risk Reporting:

    • Provide inputs to Pillar 3, ORX and BASA reports as well as analyst’s booklets where operational risk is concerned.
    • Develop and own quantitative operational risk reports which are submitted to the Head Operational Risk Intelligence and tabled for the GRCMC meeting.
    • Present reports developed at ad hoc committee meetings.
    • Ensure submission of operational risk-related reports to regulatory bodies, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

    Job Purpose

    To educate clients on the convenience, security and functionality of digital and self-service solutions; processing cash transactions and cash fulfillment (i.e.balancing and replenishment) and performing first line device maintenance in order to meet business goals and exceed the client expectations. 

    Job Responsibilities

    Client Engagement:
