    Field Agronomist

    The Role

    As Field Agronomist you will be responsible for develop and provide agronomic, product and service education and training to the field sales force that helps support the sales and service of Pioneer ® brand products and associated technologies. Support the field sales force by working to resolve customer service calls. Provides product, agronomic and general crop production information through several mediums directly to customers. Actively involved in demand creation of Pioneer seed. Work with the Agronomy Manager to plan and conduct Business Unit region agronomy field trials and demonstrations that provide information that will improve the management and/or positioning of Pioneer products. Create with Agronomy Manager and deliver agronomic product and digital services information which improves the productivity and profitability of Pioneer customers. Serve as primary agronomic resource to account managers to resolve difficult customer concerns.

    You Will Be Part of Growing Team

    • Responsible for managing the Eastern Free state area for agronomic and general crop production, training of the salespersons in that area.

    Your Challenge
    Technical Publications and Information

    • Work with Agronomy Manager (AM) to provide information and education/training to field sales force on product characteristics, product positioning and crop management practices.
    • Provide in-field and structured classroom agronomic training for field sales employees.
    • Provide timely agronomic information to the field sales team to support the sales effort.
    • Work with Agronomy Manager to provide customized agronomic information and on-farm research project support for primary customer accounts.
    • Prepare product performance summaries for use by area sales force and CU Marketing team. Provide agronomic content for technical and marketing communications for both internal and external audiences (Field Facts and Crop Focus, web, mobile, etc.…)
    • Coach field sales employees on customer service call best practices.
    • Assist in resolving customer service calls involving product performance and/or agronomic issues when unable to be resolved by Account Manager.
    • Have a working knowledge in areas such as grain end use opportunities, nutrition, management, industrial uses of Pioneer ® brand products, seed technologies.
    • Efficiently and effectively transfer technical knowledge to sales field force by developing materials, manuals, structured sessions and provide ongoing bulletins and seminars.
    • Assessing technical training needs of the sales force and providing instruction to employees that enables accurate product positioning and differentiated technical service to customers.
    • Assist in building strong relationships with local universities and governmental agencies.
    • Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, end users, and other industry representatives.

    Product Management

    • Collect information and observations related to the performance of Pioneer ® brand seed products and associated technologies.
    • Plan and execute on-farm agronomic research projects.
    • Analyze and interpret agronomy research results.
    • Provide agronomy research summaries that can be used to support product management, positioning, and field sales training.
    • Apply (TRIALS and PE) to establish and conduct treatment analysis of trials including services validation trials.
    • Coordinate with PAs on Product Knowledge Plot (PKP) programs that will be executed by field sales employees.
    • Collect information/notes and observations related to the performance of Pioneer® brand seed products.
    • Provide overall performance evaluations on commercial Pioneer seed products.
    • Support product life cycle management in assigned area with the use of digital tools.
    • Coordinate district Product Knowledge Plots and Agronomy Trial programs with NAM and the field sales force.
    • Actively take part in Hybrid Advancement Meeting (HAM) and Crop Tours.
    • Analyzing and assessing the impact that product advancement will have on Area performance and customer satisfaction.

    Service to customers

    • Assist with sales calls as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Honorus degree required in Agronomy or equivalent.
