    Finance Manager

    Financial Planning and Analysis  

    • Be the first point of contact on financial matters to MAH divisional GMs
    • Drive monthly finance meetings for results reviews with MAH divisional GMs
    • Monthly Reporting for MAH Corporate (i.e Monthly cost centre reports and monthly management pack)
    • Presenting monthly corporate pack in finance reviews to Head of Finance and CFO and resolving any queries timeously
    • Lead monthly cost centre reviews with cost centre owners and provide on-going support to them
    • Manage budgeting and forecasting of all balance sheet, income statement and cashflow items for the Corporate ledger, including cost centre reporting
    • Review budget document for cost centres ensuring detailed commentary
    • Drive budget reviews and assist cost centre owners with any queries from the reviews
    • Provide MAH corporate input into consolidated 24-month rolling forecasts of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statement
    • Review and manage the Africa cost centre contained within MCSA
    • Manage the relationship with the shared service centre
    • Assist with strategic business projects
    • Proactively partner with the business to identify and evaluate opportunities to improve bottom line business performance and ensure that change initiatives are implemented

    Finance Management, General Accounting operations and External Reporting

    • Manage reporting deadlines including month end; forecasts; budgets; half-year and year-end
    • Review/prepare schedules reports for half-year and full-year audits/packs
    • Review related month-end calculations as well as entries for accruals and provisions
    • Review monthly tax schedules for accuracy and completeness
    • Initiation and approval of SGA expenses to confirm validity and availability of budget

    People Management

    • Oversee the activities of the team to ensure effective delivery of business outcomes.
    • Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance management process. Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members.
    • Motivate the team to deliver outstanding customer service
    • Determine and analyse development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed.
    • Create effective workforce and recruitment demand plans to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met.
    • When required, initiate disciplinary processes for team members calling on support from Human Capital when required.
    • Resolve grievances raised by team members and escalate only if required.
    • Address poor performance in the team through the formal Performance improvement programme and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with.
    • Manage, motivate and develop staff


    Qualifications Essential:

    • Must be a Qualified CA(SA)
    • Management certification or qualification will be an advantage


    Experience

    • 5-8 years post articles experience (Accounting, Finance or Business Administration)
    • Knowledge of transfer pricing and withholding tax
    • Solid People Management experience - post articles
    • Good communication, presentation skills
    • Acts with integrity and fairness and high standards of accountability
    • Rest of Africa experience will be an advantage

    Technical Competencies

    • Practical knowledge of effective governance frameworks and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Knowledge of financial accounting theories and ability to apply them proficiently.
    • Technical knowledge of financial accounting systems, Process automation, and Business Intelligence and analytics tools.
    • Ability to understand, develop, refine and implement financial procedures and policies, and ensure its consistent application without deviation.
