Requirements & Qualifications
- Grade 10 (NQF level 2) or equivalent qualification. Private Security Industry Regulation Act (PSiRA) certificate. No experience required.
Duties
- Perform access control. Identify suspicious conduct. Ensure that unauthorized person and dangerous objects do not enter the building/ premises.
- Estcourt visitors to the relevant employee /venue when required. Ensure that no equipment and assets of the department leave the building/ premises unauthorized.
- Perform proper lock up for all offices and access points. Operate and monitor control room security equipment. Ensure safety in the building and premises. Undertake building /premises patrols to identify and check.
- Lock or unlock main doors and trellidoors as required. Note offices that have been left unlocked and lock the mentioned office. Fire hazards exposed electronical contacts and other fire hazards emanating from instance.
- Apply emergency procedures and alert emergency services and departmental management. Provide receptionist services. Ensure safety of staff and visitors.
- Ensure all incidents are recorded in the occurrence book/register. Ensure that the occurrence register and other registers are kept up to date.
- Ensure that visitors entering the forests have an approved Licence as per NFA. Assist with fire management in the forest as required. Obtain feedback from the supervisor on incidents reported. Report on missing and stolen equipment and stores.

Requirements & Qualifications
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Environmental Science or Project Management or relevant qualification within the related field as recognised by SAQA.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in project management or relevant field of which three (3 years) should be at an entry/junior managerial level (Assistant Director Level or equivalent).

Duties
- Ensure effective project management. Establish the Project Management Unit (PMU) and supervise PMU staff. Ensure that national or international shortterm consultants and co-executing agencies and project partners working for the project collaborate and deliver the expected project outputs.

- The incumbent will be responsible for transforming data formats and performing routine operations on data; maintaining databases and distributing information through the Marine Information Management System (MIMS); developing and customizing operational software; applying appropriate technical procedures and skills to generate information and knowledge; compiling reports and making recommendations; routinely engaging with research staff to identify needs and requirements; and providing technical support to research staff to promote data uploads on the MIMS.
- Furthermore, the incumbent will provide technical support information and advice to organize scientific information so that it is FAIR – (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable); adhere to international best practices in terms of metadata content and data format; promote and advocate MIMS to stakeholders; provide data management support to the Oceans and Coast branch to improve the monitoring of ocean processes and climate change around South Africa; and support the digitisation of the Oceans and Coast historical dataset.
