    Channel Representative -Bloemfontein Depot

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is currently looking for a talented and organized Channel Representative to join our team to be based at our Bloemfontein Depot. The Channel Representative will report to the Regional Sales Manager. The role requires an experienced Channel Representative who is diligent, organized, and self-motivated. The successful Channel Representative will be responsible to address regular operational needs of customers and drive sales performance.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric/Grade 12
    • Diploma/Degree in Sales or Marketing 
    • Valid Driver’s License (Code 10) with PDP
    • 3 to 5 years relevant experience 

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Ensure efficient and cost-effective product distribution

    • Ensure driver teams deliver according to mapped and optimised routes
    • Ensure all new and old customers are plotted on the GPS system
    • Ensure orders are geared towards improving truck utilisation and loaves/km
    • Ensure delivery teams invoices correspond with loading list before vehicle leaves bakery

    Ensure balancing of orders placed, delivered and returned

    • Monitor driver orders for informal trade customers daily
    • Monitor and track returns daily
    • Craft and action plans to drastically improve returns

    Submit sales figures from drivers daily

    • Ensure driver teams’ sales are in line with sales targets
    • Source and distribute of key trade intelligence
    • Provide actionable plans for improvements and combating competitor activities

    Ensure the capturing and allocation of all customer details

    • Ensure all customer details and classifications are loaded correctly on new accounts and are correctly listed on existing accounts

     Ensure driver competency and delivery time management

    • Support, train, discipline and lead the driver & van assistant teams to deliver sales excellence
    • Employ efficient route riding system to see all customers within each month
    • Evaluate on-the-job performance, and provide training on shortfalls identified

    Monitor Trade Prices

    • Submit weekly price surveys for informal trade customers
    • Monitor RSP’s and execute pricing strategy, policy and mandate

    Build long standing relationship with customers

    • Increase sales volume and market share in General Trade stores
    • Develop a strategy with Informal Sales Representative to gain new business
    • Handle customer complaints and queries
    • Ensure merchandising to the company’s standards
    • Supports the Informal Sales Representative in providing adequate route optimisation and rationalisation solutions
    • Ensure the customer needs are met within a viable business framework
    • Provide a link between customers and drivers for a seamless transition of products
    • Provide key trade intel and address regular customer service requirements

    • Our Talent Team is on the hunt for a Dispatch Controller for the Baking Division. The role will be based at the Polokwane Bakery and will report into the Distribution Manager.
    • The Dispatch Controller is responsible for Responsible for the Despatch Department to deliver daily OTIF for Polokwane bakery and it’s depots including bakeouts to the rest of the Sunbake network as a supply bakery.

    Minimum Requirements

    Dispatch Clerk Ladysmith

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is looking for a energetic individual who will join in thier Depot as a Dispatch Clerk. The successful candidate will work closely with Drivers and the Depot manager at the Ladysmith Depot.
    • The primary function of a dispatch clerk is to ensure accurate stock and crate movement from receiving of stock to despatching of trucks and return logistics.
    • To ensure that all paperwork and other transactional duties are completed accurately, timeously and efficiently.

    • Good numeracy

    Stock Management

    • Ensure stock is loaded according to company safety standards
    • On vehicle return, stock must be counted as returns and credit note issues for driver or customer
    • Conduct cycle count of stock in dispatch and ensure it balances and provide reason for not providing
    • Accurate receipting and dispatching

    Crate Control

    • Ensure the integrity of movement of crate within JDE
    • Conduct create count of all Sunshine crates on the company premises
    • Report any crate losess or discrepancies
    • Record crates returned from driver on the crates sheet, issue crate slip to driver

    Transactional Duties

    • Print invoices of JDE
    • Manage loaders
    • Transfer stock to reflect accurately on drivers lroute location

    Van Sheet Controller

    • As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Van Sheet Controller to join our Finance Team in Pretoria West. The role will be reporting to the Financial Accountant.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric, Accounting qualification or relevant finance tertiary qualification
    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Van Sheet/Recon.
    • Relevant experience on Syspro.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Review daily processing & queries

    • Ensure that paperwork is received from dispatch and depot gate sheet daily for processing.
    • Ensure that driver changes are done on Syspro.
    • Ensure all processing on Syspro is complete and accurate. Previous day quantity balancing = 0. All day-end reporting is complete, printed and filed.
    • Review extra loads, short loads and corrections have supporting documentation and are duly authorized.
    • Ensure driver recons, customers pricing and other reports for each driver are printed.
    • Check driver shortages and notify the Distribution and Financial Manager of major unexplained shortages.
    • Attend to driver queries and ensure the matters are resolved withing 48 hours.
    • Ensure driver’s papers are signed, and filing is done daily.
    • Follow up on free-stock documentation (POD) for completeness.
    • Review the POD report to ensure PODs are returned.
    • Review Capisol Portal and ensure that documents are linked / uploaded correctly.
    • Review that workflows for driver adjustments are correct and supporting documents are complete.

    Resolve all queries from Van Sheet Clerks

    • Ensure the correct management/supervision of Van Sheet Clerks.
    • Investigate any pricing issues and escalate to the Sales administrator for correction.
    • Communicate with HOD and IT Department when required.

    Van Sheet Processing

    • Process all relevant documentation relating to the driver documentation if a subordinate is on leave or absent.
    • Accurate and efficient capturing of information.
    • Scan claims and PODs to the Capisol Portal.

    Managing sub-ordinates

    • Compile weekend and public holiday duty roster.
    • Regular meetings (once a week) and one-on-one if required
    • Training Van Sheet Clerks on Syspro processing and procedures.
    • Performance Development Plan (PDP) discussions and reviews with Van sheet clerks
    • Adhere to company disciplinary codes/ structures and take necessary steps when and if needed.

    Ad hoc

    • Ensure that all adhoc duties are performed to the satisfaction of the Financial Manager / Accountant .
