    Principal Technician

    Requirements

    • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
    • Eligible for registration at ECSA as a  Professional Engineering Technician.
    • At least 5 – 8 years post qualification relevant SCADA engineering experience including the testing and commissioning of automation systems.
    • A clear understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Act and Construction Regulations.
    • High degree of computer literacy.
    • A valid code B or EB driver’s licence.

    Physical requirements:

    • The nature of the job requires the incumbent to be physically fit.
    • The incumbent cannot be colour blind.
    • Ability to stand for long hours during working day.
    • Medically fit to work at heights.

    Special conditions:

    • Required to work in all weather conditions.
    • Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies and overtime, and will be required to do standby duties if and when required.
    • Will be required to participate in the Essential Users Vehicle Scheme.
    • Will be required to be appointed as a Responsible Person in terms of the NRS Switching Regulations.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Researching new SCADA, substation automation and communication technologies for implementation in electrical substations.
    • Researching and implementing new modems, radios, fibre and wireless LAN technologies and their application within the SCADA environment.
    • Investigating new project proposals from the Transmission System Development and Distribution System Development departments.
    • Maintain the SCADA Remote Terminal Units and communication infrastructure by analysing system performance and implementing changes required to improve system response times and communication throughput.
    • Contributes to the overall SCADA Services business plan including providing performance data for all RTU
    •  technologies and producing statistical reports on the performance of the RTU’s, radios and wireless LAN systems.
    • Compile technical specifications for the supply of
    •  RTU’s and SCADA communication equipment.
    • Providing SCADA project management expertise for protection and substation automation projects.
    • Ensure legal compliance and the safety of staff and equipment, and that contractors comply with minimum work standards and safety regulations.
    • Maintains health and safety standards including, attending the required health and safety training courses and ensuring that all work conducted is in accordance with health and safety rules, regulations and legislation.
    • Completion of RTU site documentation to be signed off for filing, ensuring that the required test programs, test sequences, RTU configuration data, software protocols are downloaded on a backup server on a regular basis.
    • Ensuring staff development seeking out relevant training from equipment suppliers and providing same where possible.

    Legal Librarian (Admin Officer)

    Requirements

    • B. Bibl/B.LIS or PG Dipl. LIS or B. Inf (Hons
    • 2-3 years’ experience in a library environment, at least 1-2 years law library experience, including supervisory experience.
    • A paralegal qualification would be advantageous.
    • Fully conversant with all aspects of librarianship, in particular the principles of collection development, reference work, information retrieval and bibliographic knowledge

    Requirements

    • Relevant BTech or Bachelor’s degree

    Head Inventory & Stores Coordination

    Requirements

    • A relevant qualification (NQF7) degree or advanced diploma in Operations, Logistics Management, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Commercial or similar in the field
    • At least five (5) years’ supervisory or management experience in warehouse/stores environment

    Senior Professional Officer - Long Term Planning

    Requirements

    • BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, or BTech degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Registered Professional Engineer or eligible for registration, or Registered Professional Engineering Technologist or eligible for registration
    • Minimum of five (5) years’ postgraduate and directly applicable or acceptable experience in an electricity distribution system environment with exposure to a wide range of technologies
