    ACC Medical Officer

    Purpose of the position

    The primary purpose of the Medical Officer (MO) is to implement the Advanced Clinical Care (ACC) programme. The incumbent will be responsible for the development of annual work plans at district level, reports, training, case management and mentorship activities linked to ACC.

    The incumbent will work effectively across teams, demonstrating intercultural and disciplinary sensitivity and ensure all project activities are evidence based. The MO will be responsible for the coordination, execution, control and completion of all ACC linked targets for the relevant district, ensuring they align with current funder strategy and Department of Health goals.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
    • Postgraduate Diploma in HIV/AIDS Clinical Management or equivalent
    • 5 years’ working experience in HIV treatment, including TB/HIV integration
    • Valid code 08 driver’s licence
    • Fluent in English and/or isiXhosa
    • Clear criminal record
    • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned district

    ACC Call Centre Nurse

    Purpose of the position

    • Provides technical guidance and referral to HIV experts for management of complicated HIV and TB cases and manages the ACC Call Centre. Works collaboratively with provincial, district HAST and partner organisations to ensure delivery of quality clinical management of complicated HIV and TB cases.
    • Ensure that all ACC training requirements are met in line with funder and Regional Training Centre priorities. Responsible for coordination and facilitation of ACC trainings and provides technical assistance to district and operational staff.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor's degree (B. Cur) in Nursing
    • Valid SANC registration in HIV/AIDS management or primary health postgraduate qualification
    • Advanced HIV diploma will be an added advantage
    • Minimum 5 years working experience at primary health
    • NIMART qualification and preferable a higher qualification in HIV
    • Mentoring nurses in HIV / TB capacities.
    • Previous experience

    HAST Counsellor- OR Tambo

    Purpose of the position

    • To provide HIV testing services to clients accessing public health services through the district roving mentor team as part of IHSS support to the facilities in reaching their 95-95-95 targets.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12
    • HTS Certificate including adherence counselling and rapid testing course (RT QII)
    • Couple counselling
    • Advanced counselling certificate
    • TB/HIV care certificate or other health related field
    • Disclosure and paediatric consent certificate

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Provide HIV counselling and testing services (HTS) to clients of the Department of Health attending PHCs or CHCs to access any health services offered at these facilities inclusive of and focusing on TB/HIV and MCH services.
    • Recruit clients from all waiting areas as well as from direct referrals from other health professionals.
    • Provide HIV/AIDS Counselling and Testing as well as TB screening services to clients as per the National HCT Guidelines and as stipulated by the National Department of Health.
    • Educate clients re health and specific HIV/TB/PMTCT-related conditions
    • Promote the advantages of knowing your status
    • Explain coping mechanisms and treatment options
    • Advise on lifestyle adaptation, good nutrition
    • Provide adherence counselling and assist with identifying treatment support
    • Maintain confidentiality of patient information
    • Do TB symptom screening (4 questions) on all clients and refer if positive
    • Link positive clients to ART initiation services

    Professional Nurse Counsellor - KP

    Job Advert Summary    
    To provide a comprehensive Wellness mobile health service by providing HIV testing and counselling services linked to screening and diagnosing clients for TB/STI’s. Provision of treatment and clinical care to HIV & TB patients and ensure successful linkage to care and adherence with specific focused on the sex worker.

    Minimum Requirements

    Community Health Worker

    Job Advert Summary    
    Conducts community, household and individual health assessments and identify individual health needs and risks (actual and potential). Facilitate the family or an individual to seek the appropriate health service and promote the health of the households and the individuals within these households.     • Educate patient and relatives about caring for the patient at home and resources available 
    • Refer patients to health facilities and service providers where necessary

    The purpose of this job is to provide multi-session evidence-based structural programmes and become an integral part of the broader combination prevention care and treatment program in a non-clinical site and/or community that links the community into care.     • Introduce evidenced based structural programmes to the facilities and CBOs in the cluster THC is supporting
    • Map out the communities, schools and institutions of higher learning with burden of disease and large numbers of adolescent girls and       young women
    • Introduce structural programmes and obtain entry in schools, institutions of higher learning
    • Identify safe spaces in the community where structural programmes can be conducted
    • Conduct vulnerability screening and identify the vulnerable girls to participate in structural sessions
