    Process Engineer Intern

    CLOSING DATE:  15 September 2023

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Complete all learnership requirements as stipulated by Unilever, including but limited to training attendance, assessments completion, project completion, logbook completion and presentations as needed
    • The Process Engineering Intern role is critical to the development of our factories to World Class, which means zero defects, zero waste and zero losses. 
    • She/he will apply extensively the full range of Focused and Quality Improvement methods and tools to counter losses identified in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost Deployment, Customer Service and Logistics.  The Cost Deployment pillar will be populated with data built up through application of the Managing Manufacturing Performance Code, which is key to ensuring focus on key losses.
    • Working directly with the line crews daily. The Industrial Engineer also acts as the technical trainer for line teams and provides coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis and the establishment of countermeasures. Validation of all process improvements and the establishment of revised basic conditions on the line. A core deliverable is to eliminate losses and wastes and increase the stability of the line to support the transition of traditional line teams to semi-autonomous teams
    • Follow SOP procedures as needed within the operation assigned to
    • Conform to all site rules governing safety of self and others, quality and code of business principles

    KEY REQUIREMENTS

    • Completed degree or National Diploma in Chemical Engineering
    • Use of computer software programs – Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word is essential
    • Good communication skills both written and verbal – proficient in English

    Customer Service Manager - Durban

    MAIN JOB PURPOSE: 

    We are looking for a Customer Experience Manager who will be responsible to ensure a superior customer experience through proactive communication and collaboration to cultivate strategic partnerships. Key is seeking continuous improvement opportunities through KPI monitoring and action plan implementation, in order to maximise supply reliability, ensure customer supply chain integration, and to drive joint cost savings initiatives.

    The role demonstrates success in the leadership and management of customer operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, the delivery of key service metrics, operational and financial performance.

    The key purpose of this role is to ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and collaboration through assessing the customer experience from ordering, delivery to collection. Intent of this role is not to manage day-to-day operations but to monitor and collect insights to influence internal and customer policy to elevate efficiency of the processes.

    Main accountabilities:

    • Understanding the needs of retail customers through internal reviews and supporting the resulting strategies through proactively initiating actions for continuous improvement
    • Delivery of key service outcomes for our customers (Inbound service levels + outbound service levels). Ensures that customer expectations are met and exceeded by managing and improving the process, developing, and implementing action plans and strategies to achieve customer KPIs

    Procurement Manager SPM Africa & NALI

    Main Job Purpose:

    Professional sourcing of products/services meeting the specified needs of the Business at most competitive commercial terms

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Executive Procurement of the materials/services Portfolios: Decides what to buy, where to buy, how to buy, when to buy
    • Develop and implement strategies for the procurement of the respective portfolios.
      Follow market conditions, prepare price trends and formulate future markets trends for the business.
    • Support the business with accurate price forecasting. Prepares information on purchase prices and conditions to enable proper budgeting and cash forecasting.

    Africa Data Analytics & Investigations Manager

    MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

    Overview:

    Reporting to the Business Unit Africa Security Director, the Africa Data Analytics & Investigations Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of the Security driven data analytics and investigations strategy to prevent loss, diversion or manipulation of Engineering spares, Raw & Packaging Materials or Semi-Finished Goods & Finished Goods relating to the balance sheet as well as all forms of expenditure relating to the income statement.

    The role will aim to protect all forms of spend, materials and finished goods at all stages of the procurement, manufacturing, logistics and sales chain including promotions and new routes to market.  This encompasses Unilever operations in our markets for Southern Africa, East Africa & West Africa.

    The holder will work with an extensive business network to achieve their objectives.  They should be a proven leader and influencer.

    JOB SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for the delivery of an end-to-end Security driven data analytics and investigations strategy across our Africa market; Southern Africa, East Africa & West Africa.
    • Work with stakeholders in these markets to protect assets and reduce loss across all business areas.
    • Raise awareness of lessons learnt from control breaches within the operation and with business stakeholders.
    • Develop business cases in support of the Security driven data analytics and investigation strategy for approval, financial and technical resource allocation, and provide the change leadership to deliver implementation.
    • Coordinate all Africa investigations ensuring stakeholder engagement throughout the process.
    • Support site risk assessments and design of security measures to prevent loss.
    • You will be the subject matter expert for Security data analytics and investigations in Africa, including but not limited to technology, infrastructure, physical and training needs.
    • Routine central monitoring, escalation and reporting, and analysis that measures cost/benefit of the programme.

    The Person:

    • Influences senior leaders around security plans and actions - can paint a compelling picture of risk and the need to change.
    • Has the ability to adapt to different cultural operating environments.
    • Excellent communication skills - communicates security policies and requirements clearly to the regional and global audiences the role will encounter.

    Skills & Knowledge:

    • In-depth knowledge required of material controls, waste management and other loss areas including sales and promotion manipulation.  A background in SAP and stocktake management is essential.  An ability to exploit online data is key.
    • Able to develop a clear business case to attract investment to reduce loss.  A commercial mind-set.
    • Understand threats, vulnerabilities and specific risks related to the effective control of systems and infrastructure within the supply chain, marketing, and sales environment.
    • Advanced programme and project management skills – can define and lead cohesive programmes of action.
    • Understand and apply the full range of corporate investigative capabilities, whilst ensuring their lawful application.
    • You must have a good understanding of stock controls and end-to-end SAP management.
    • Able to manage and exploit bulk data, analyse key trends, and effectively communicate the insights.
    • Conduct reviews of security processes to validate effectiveness of security controls (people, processes, and technology).

    Commercial Experience in-Market Operations Director METR & AFRICA

    Main purpose of job:

    The in-Market Operations Director for Commercial Experience team will hold accountabilities for all MET, Nali, Ukraine and Africa markets, covering the end-to-end processes of the service, continuous improvement, driving discipline across the 3 Tiers and driving cost saving projects across P2P, R2R, , and any new service lines that we expand into. The role covers designing & driving the Commercial Experience strategy for the MET, Nali, Ukraine and Africa Clusters reporting to the Head of Global In-Market Operations-ComEx. The role will be directly responsible for a team of ca 50 people based across different locations such as India, Turkey, Egypt, and Ghana covering a geography of 30 countries.

    This position provides the leadership, management, and vision to ensure that the MET, Nali, Ukraine and AFRICA Operations have appropriate direction, operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures to effectively manage service delivery across countries in scope.

    The role offers a unique opportunity to partner with the senior leaders of Unilever Finance, Procurement and UniOps as a whole. The successful candidate will drive new insights into key financial and operational performance drivers and become a trusted leader within the organization.  

    Key accountabilities:

    The person is responsible for delivering the ongoing service:

    Leading and operational management of the India and Turkey Operating Centres for (P2P, R2R & SCFS) comprising c.50 people. Leading business engagement with Procurement, Finance in MET, NALI, UKRAINE & AFRICA Clusters including being an integral part of the Clusters’ Finance Leadership Teams. Is a member in UniOps in Market (UiM) LT of the cluster, ensuring alignment in communications and quality of delivery when partnering the markets. Drive effective and comprehensive Joint Business Plans between the Cluster and ComEx – including effective delivery and performance management against the same. This will include among others:

    • Deployment and delivery of global & local cost reduction and process improvement projects with strong governance.
    • Maintaining the controls discipline and hygiene in clusters while supporting Control Services Teams & Corporate Controller teams to improve the country capabilities in terms of risk management & mitigation.
    • Integration of the Service Lines to ensure that all global and regional services are delivered to the business in accordance with agreed service levels and performance targets, continuously minimizing the probability and impact of any unplanned service interruption.
    • Function as the escalation point for most significant day-to-day issues or problems in the Market Cluster(s)/business area.

     Managing the relations with third party service providers (3PSPs) with the right balance between creating accountability & strong visible partnership whilst ensuring control framework compliance within the region. Building effective ongoing relationships, with key stakeholders in the MCO/business area. Being part of the larger external shared services network in the region.

    • Solid people management skills and demonstrated peer leadership.
