    Miner Ground Handling

    Job Description:

    • Contribute to a culture of zero harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation and health, safety, environmental and security policies and procedures, and by the application of specific instructions to own work area and task completion.
    • Take over/ hand over shift from off/on-going drill rig operator, attend to any abnormalities first, and then report to the supervisor to receive further instructions.
    • Perform visual Inspections of equipment before, during and after operation according to departmental procedure to minimise breakdowns and operational losses by the timeous reporting of defects / abnormalities to Supervisor.
    • Operate equipment according to relevant mining requirements and Standard Operating Procedures to achieve daily drilling targets.
    • Report and record relevant operational data as required by department procedures to compile production reports.
    • Conduct efficient housekeeping of equipment and work area in accordance with departmental requirements.

    Qualifications:

    Formal qualifications:

    • Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
    • MQA Competent B certificate for underground
    • Long Hole Drill Rig Certificate
    • An underground metalliferous blasting certificate /MQA Rock Breaking Certificate will be advantageous.

    Additional requirements:

    • Code B or higher Driver’s License
    • Required classification as per VTS testing for specific role (Orange +)
    • Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground

    Role-specific knowledge:

    • Proven Minimum of 3 year’s practical experience of operating a long hole drill rig (Simba/ Solo) in an underground massive mining environment
    • Previous experience in Sub-level caving/ Block caving will be a definite advantage.

    Sound knowledge and experience of:

    Miner Ground Handling

    The Miner - Ground Handling is responsible for controlling the relevant mining process by the optimal utilisation of people and equipment to achieve stipulated targets in accordance with the production plan.

    The Miner - Secondary Breaking is responsible for ensuring that he/she drill, prepares, charge, high hang-ups and blast big rocks inside the draw-points.

    Job Description:

    Job Description:

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Develops business processes, roles, and responsibilities for the EAM systems
    • Accountable for configuration of SAP PM technical master data and tactics to align with AOM and control weaknesses identified through internal and external audit processes

    HR Practitioner - Training & Development

    Job Description

    • Contract Management of specific training requirements in compliance with Commercial Service processes.

    Qualifications
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Education & Experience)

    • Relevant Hons. Degree or B-Tech. (NQF 7 - Human Resources, Education Training and Development or Social Sciences)
    • Registered SDF
    • ISO Internal Auditor

    SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial capacity in Assurance and Governance or as a SDF or STO or HR Practitioner
    • Advanced MS Office skills
    • Working knowledge of the MHSA, Skills Development and BBBEE Act
    • Working knowledge of the MQA, QCTO and SAQA

    Blasting Assistant

    Job Description
    The Blasting Assistant is responsible for assisting the holder of blasting certificate (Miner) in exercising control over the explosives to be used for blasting (Receive, secure storage, transport, issue and charging up).

    Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    • Blasting assistant may sign for receiving of explosives but the Blasting Certificate Holder must still sign the delivery slip during the day or at the end of the shift in MO office.
    • The blasting assistant must ensure that explosives are delivered to the working place not more than 2 hours before charging up commences.
    • Assist the miner in preparation of primers for secondary hang ups.
    • Assist the miner with timing of blasting rounds.
    • Assist the miner in preparation of Mud Blast.

    This role is in the Mining Department at a BU Level and reporting to the Miner.

    Qualifications
    Education required:
    Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification

    • Competent B and Blasting Assistance Underground certificate
    • Required classification as per VTS testing for specific role Orange
    • Valid EB/Code 8 Drivers License
    • Computer Literacy - MS Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook) (advantageous)

    Experience & knowledge required:

    • Minimum of 1 year’s practical experience in an underground mining environment
    • Sound knowledge and experience of:
    1. Underground blasting practices and operations
    2. Safety, Health and Environmental Legislation and standards applicable to underground mining

    Other requirements:

    • Be prepared to work shifts, do standby duties, call-outs, and work overtime as per what the role may require Must have strong administrative and organisational skills
    • Ability to work under pressure, be independent and a self-starter
    • Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground. Medical assessment will include vertigo and claustrophobia amongst others. Able to tolerate physical exertion

    Shift Boss: Ground Handling

    Job Description

    • Pursue and drive a culture of zero harm and ensure all aspects of the work are completed in adherence to the De Beers’ Safety, Health, Security and Environmental standards and systems.

    • Conduct accident and incident investigations according to organisational standards.
    • Monitor adherence of service providers according to the scope of work as determined in service level agreements.

    Qualifications
    Formal qualifications:

    • Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
    • Blasting Certificate for Underground Hard Rock / Equivalent Qualification
    • Underground Shift Boss certificate
    • A Supervisory qualification would be advantageous
    • Onsetters Certificates advantageous

    • Code B Driver’s License

    Job Description
    Your responsibilities will include:

    • To perform technical C&I related engineering activities in the operation/ project/ division, providing an integrated and effective engineering service ensuring the achievement of departmental objectives and provision of technical guidance to other departments.

    Qualifications
    Formal qualifications:

    • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering - Light Current and 5 years relevant industrial experience. Registered or eligible to be registered as a Technician with the Engineering Council of South Africa OR
    • N6 in the field of Electrical / Electronic Engineering Light Current with an Instrumentation Mechanician Trade Certificate with 5 years relevant industrial experience Experience Required:

    Additional requirements:

    • 5 years’ experience in the C&I field.
    • Must have been exposed and knowledgeable on relevant equipment and systems in the Fixed Plant environment. E.g. Bulk Aircoolers, Main Vent Fans, Conveyors, Pump stations)
    • Must have in depth experience on field measurement and control equipment.
    • Must have knowledge on networking and associated electronic devices.
    • Must have experience on basic communications busses especially ProfiBus/ ProfiNet.
    • Must be informed concerning PLC and SCADA systems in particular Siemens PLC’s and WinCC SCADA systems.

    Role-specific knowledge:

    • Proven ability in minimising Operational and Business Risk
