    Compliance Officer

    The Role

    We are seeking a motivated and professional Compliance Officer to join our rapidly growing team. Based out of our South Africa office, the Compliance Officer will be responsible for all domestic legal matters as well as providing strategic, regulatory, and governance advice to the company as a whole.

    This person will be directly involved in complex business transactions, negotiating critical contracts, and overseeing the day to day legal function of the South African region. Apart from a legal and compliance background, the ideal candidate should have direct work experience in the financial services industry.

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan and execute legal initiatives and reviews for South Africa
    • Ensure that the organization respect all laws, rules, and regulations when conducting financial transactions
    • Assist with the development and implementation of compliance management plans, policies, processes and monitoring to ensure the organisation complies with laws and regulations, and statutory and supervisory requirements
    • Advise business units on options for remediating regulatory compliance issues
    • Evaluate firm’s compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and firm policies and procedures
    • Proof, edit and Submit updated licence applications to the FSCA, create documents and presentation materials
    • Update the FAIS Rep Register/Competency Register
    • Conduct internal audits and report any and all compliance violations
    • Conduct legal research and prepare written memos, articles, and other correspondence
    • Anticipate, identify, advise on, and mitigate legal risk that arises in relation to programs and activities
    • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
    • Establish and embed compliance culture across the Company and its entities
    • Monitor and interpret industry developments and relevant laws and regulations
    • Draft internal policies and procedures
    • Collaborate with External Compliance Officer, Regulators, and Legal department
    • Assist in the designing and implementation of all administrative processes and procedures in adherence to company policy

    Requirements:

    • Higher education degree in Legal studies 
    • Must have RE5 Qualification
    • Minimum 2-3 years post qualification experience in a financial services environment
    • Highly preferred qualifications include: RE1 Qualification and RE5 FSCA approved Compliance Officer license
    • Working experience with corporate governance matters and securities law
    • Strong working knowledge of financial services regulations
    • Demonstrated experience in and passion for financial regulations and compliance, intellectual property, technology, real estate, commercial contracts, and employment law

    • Ability to demonstrate exceptional problem solving and critical-thinking, project-management, and independent judgement

    We are seeking a Client Services Executive to join our rapidly growing global workforce based in Johannesburg. This person will be the first point of contact supporting our potential and existing clients in day-to-day trading activities. An ideal candidate will have a passion for financial markets and trading that will add value to each client interaction, directly contributing to improving the client experience. This position is key in the company’s client acquisition and retention strategy, so your demeanor should strongly reflect our core values.

    Responsibilities:

    • Become familiar with and understand our company’s processes, products, and sales techniques
    • Act as a primary contact for clients in relation to queries and service-related issues
    • Use your understanding of the product and processes to resolve client inquiries, and progress the client in the account opening, funding, or trading process
    • Utilize a sound business awareness to spot and utilise cross-sell and up-sell opportunities during client interactions
    • Keep accurate record of client communications by regularly updating CRM entries and recording all your activities
    • Provide sales support and refer leads to relevant sales teams
    • Liaise with various other departments within ThinkMarkets including but not limited to trading, compliance, and sales to investigate client queries
    • Respond to all customer services enquiries in a friendly, efficient, and timely manner according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
    • Carry-out platform demonstrations with clients across various desktop, mobile and tablet devices
    • Maintain ThinkMarkets' service quality standards and ensure clients’ needs and queries are resolved quickly and efficiently
    • Assist clients over the telephone, live chat, and support tickets to calculate swap rates, margin requirements and other financial calculations related to trading and financial markets
    • Adherence to the company’s policies, code of conduct, and treating customers fairly
    • Build strong working relationships with key business partners to help support and grow the reputation and success of the business
    • Provide management with suggestions for improvements as needed
    • Produce reports and Management Information (MI) for senior management

    Requirements:

    • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment
    • A team-player to collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to meet personal, departmental and group KPI’s
    • Have excellent communication skills to deliver first class customer service and support to all client types including private clients, partners, and institutions
    • Effective communication with line management, colleagues in SA and the rest of the world

    KPI’s:

    • Completion of all online courses through the ThinkMarkets Learning Portal
    • Completion of the required CPD points annually to maintain FAIS rep status
    • Correct workflow escalations on Jira
    • Accurate capturing of client communication on Salesforce
    • Achieving of cross-selling targets that will be set monthly by line manager
    • Effective assistance with trade investigations
    • Effective presentation of the functionalities of our platforms
    • Live chat satisfaction rate of at least 95% or above
    • Handle incoming calls with confidence and maintaining an abandonment rate of below 95%

    Our Executive Equity and Derivative Sales Trader will manage and execute all aspects of the dealer process related to the sale and transmission of orders for diverse types of linear derivatives. This includes FX, Futures, Commodities, Equity CFD’S and Cash equities for private high net worth and professional trader client base, to meet equity and derivatives sales targets by increasing trading revenue.

    Responsibilities:  

    • Develop thorough understanding of financial markets, trading principles and technology
    • Collaborate with our customers to effectively identify their needs and communicate solutions through phone and email
    • Maintain and grow diverse client relationships (retail high net worth, professional traders and corporate account) and build a foundation of trust with clients by demonstrating an understanding of the client’s strategy, and needs, clearly articulating self-generated ideas, and being responsive to clients’ needs. Use that understanding to develop a long-term partnership, ensure the effective representation of the clients’ accounts, helping clients build more effective trading strategies and unlocking greater value for clients
    • You will be answering incoming inquiries from customers and supporting them on their journey to becoming long term trading customers - organizational skills will be critical
    • You will actively seek and manage a book of own sourced clients
    • You will make outbound calls to initiate a dialogue with the prospective customers
    • You will regularly liaise with our KYC and Compliance teams to eliminate any friction during the onboarding process and to ensure that all applications are dealt with in line with the company’s processes and meet regulatory requirements. As a part of this process you may be asked to request additional documentation or information from clients
    • You will keep accurate record of client communications and record all your sales activities and dealing activities
    • Write own generated research to improve the trading strategies of your own book of clients
    • Act as back up to the Manager of Equity and Derivatives Sales Operations on their book of clients in servicing and dealing for clients

    Requirements:

    • An understanding of pricing and trading of derivatives instruments
    • A hunter someone with a passion for new business and acquiring and maintaining good client relationships
    • Skilled negotiator with strong influencing skills; able to communicate effectively and with enthusiasm
    • Self-motivated and enthusiastic about ongoing development and steep learning curve
    •  A flair for sales and delivering best in class customer service
    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, ideally within the Equities, FX and CFD sector
    • Excellent English (spoken and written), Additional South African languages will be an advantage
    • Have a clear, informative, and professional communication style
    • Easily adaptable to changing priorities with passion for creative problem-solving
    • Must already have a book of CFD clients

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in the financial markets and selling/supporting/trading Equities, CFDs, FX
    • Completed the JSE trading exam
    • Completed your RPEs or part thereof
    • FAIS Representative with CAT 1.8, 1.9 - 1.13

We are seeking a data driven, ambitious Marketing Manager, who has a proven track record of delivering successful performance marketing strategies, to join our South Africa office.

    Reporting into the Head of Performance Marketing, the Marketing Manager will take the lead on all cross-channel management activities. You will act as the bridge between leadership and the customer across all channels. This role will define, develop, and implement ThinkMarkets’ South Africa media strategy with the aim to present our brand and products to a relevant audience and to ultimately drive a steady stream of quality leads. Your role will be paramount to support our ambitious growth plans and to ensure we can scale activity while keeping efficient CPAs.

    A strong candidate for this role will be a highly analytical campaign management specialist and a proven track record of building, growing, and scaling campaigns that deliver consistent growth. They will have worked closely with performance marketing and sales teams and have had responsibility for KPIs along the marketing & sales funnel.

    Candidates applying should be technically competent in campaign management, data-driven, and confident in evaluating local marketing campaigns to ensure it delivers to the bottom-line.

    Responsibilities:

    • Create digital and offline strategies to acquire new customers at targeted ROI
    • Work with and know how to appropriately allocate media to relevant channels and activities
    • Lead and grow all marketing activity with a focus across paid channels
    • Lead and grow customer acquisition through Email Acquisition and Direct strategies
    • Identify any opportunities of web and landing pages and proactively fill in gaps
    • Coordinate the delivery of media campaigns with the internal stakeholders to ensure top level execution of all our campaigns
    • Define relevant success KPIs for different campaigns and channels
    • Expand our media strategy by testing and onboarding new media partnerships as well as new channels (both online & offline)
    • Develop an effective testing plan to optimize various aspects of our ad campaigns
    • Ensure that all campaigns cohere to the overall global marketing strategy
    • Use analytics tools to gain a deep understanding for each channel’s performance and leverage those findings to optimize strategy
    • Closely monitor performance for all media activities and channels
    • Provide regular reporting around performance (post release) of marketing campaigns, customer strategy, and consumer insights
    • Track actual spend and ensure media spend is within budget and reported accurately to the finance team
    • Work with both technical and marketing stakeholders to identify solutions to enhance and optimize campaign performance and the customer experience
    • Act as an advocate for all regional media, campaigns, third-party relationships to regionalize our marketing activities 

    Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree
    • 3+ years in direct brand marketing or 5+ years agency experience
    • Must have experience managing a marketing campaign for a singular brand
    • Must have programmatic buying experience
    • Must have Google Ads and Facebook certification
    • Ideally will have experience with print and live event marketing
    • Proven multi-channel experience with all major performance marketing channels including mobile programmatic, paid search, display, and social (Facebook eco system)
    • Experience working within financial services is highly preferred
    • Advanced level knowledge of Tableau, Data Analysis, and Data Modelling
    • Experience building and delivering strategies for B2C companies
    • Experience in using Predictive Analytical models for real time bidding
    • Solid experience working closely with sales teams with full responsibility for KPIs along the marketing & sales funnel
    • Be able to communicate and execute industry best practices and the latest digital trends
    • Strong interest in media trends and keeping up to date on new developments
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
