    Data Capturer

    Job Description

    • Anova is an NGO that empowers people and changes lives. Good health and quality of life is what motivates us to provide healthcare solutions and support for those who need it most.
    • The successful candidate will be required to support the Department of Health through direct service at facility level to carry out data-related admin work, capture patient’s files, generate defaulter reports and compile monthly statistics.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Capture Patient’s information into all Database Platforms, e.g., TIER.Net and other DoH Database Applications.
    • Carry out Data quality Assessments and Audits with close Guidance from M&E Officer.
    • Conduct monthly Data validations using prescribed Tools on collected Data from DHIS, Tier.net and TB modules /ETR/Redcap.
    • Assist facility Data Capturers in populating run-charts for DIP elements.
    • Update tracing outcomes from CHWs and CLOs on the defaulter tracing tool.
    • Coordinate and collect ad-hoc and routine weekly Data from facilities by all Anova Team Members in the sub-District.

     Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

    • Grade 12.
    • Tertiary Graduates an advantage.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience using TIER.Net.
    • Data Capturing competency through experience or training.
    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Fast and accurate Data capturing skills.
    • Excellent Administrative and organizational skills.
    • Good facilitation and communication skills.
    • Able to communicate in English and other South African Official Language.
    • Proficiency in Ms Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

    Social Auxiliary Worker

    Job Description

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and managing, channelling clients to social workers, referring clients to resources and conveying information, offering psychosocial care and support services, conducting educational and prevention groups and carrying out home visits in paediatric, adolescents and young people living with HIV and their caregivers in City of Johannesburg district facilities.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    Programme Implementation

    • Providing adherence support, disclosure counselling, recruitment and running of support clubs for Paeds (CAFCD), adolescent and Care givers.
    • Render welcome Back Campaigns (LTFU) and Viral load suppression.
    • Referral of patients to relevant intervention programmes.
    • Tracking of unsuppressed viral loads and offer enhanced adherence counselling to Paeds, Adolescent and Caregivers using the process flow.
    • Ensure feedback between Facilities and organisations of referred cases.

    Stakeholder engagement

    • Implement Bi-Directional referrals and Case conferencing with CBO’s and facilities on Bi-weekly basis.
    • Support project buy-in at facility level and collaborate with staff members at health facilities.

    Capacity building

    • Provide training and mentorship to facility and other staff on adherence, disclosure, support group facilitation, referral system.
    • Mentor facility DOH staff; RC's staff in programme implementation, Health Talks, Enhanced Adherence Counselling, Disclosure counselling and implementation of support groups including CBO’s.

    Supervision, Support, and reporting

    • Record management-process notes, Family care days summary reports, facility reports, referral tracker report, case management report, intake register, case conference summary report, patient adherence plan and disclosure records. Keeping records of decanted children.
    • Weekly feedback to the team on implementation progress.
    • Work with team members to create weekly schedules, in accordance with the work plan

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Matric/Grade 12 certificate and Social Auxiliary Work certificate recognised by the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA) and registered to practice as a Social Auxillary Worker with the South African Social Services Professions.
    • Must have at least 2-5 years’ experience working with PLHIV (people living with HIV).
    • Training in KidzAlive, Integrated Access to Care and Treatment (I-ACT) and NAS (National Adherence Strategy) an advantage.

    Skills, competencies, and attributes:

    • Must have experience working in HIV/AIDS programmes and supervision of staff.
    • Good presentation and excellent communication skills and good report writing skills
    • Strong interpersonal and team work skills.
    • Proficiency with MS Office, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.

    Retention Counsellor

    Job Description

    • Anova is an NGO that empowers people and changes lives. Good health and quality of life is what motivates us to provide healthcare solutions and support for those who need it most.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible to enhance retention in care with specific focus on patients (re)initiating ART, patients that are virally unsuppressed despite effective ART and patients at high risk of disengaging from care. Provide comprehensive and supportive adherence counselling as per the National Adherence Strategy (NAS) SOP 1 and SOP 2, including I-ACT model. Retention Counsellor will be required to conduct counselling session in a non-judgmental manner and ensuring confidentiality according to the Counselling standard.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive counselling to promote retention in line with DoH policies and guidelines and in line with District 909090 DIP and Sub-district IP 909090 plans.
    • Recruit and receive referrals of high-risk patients such as pregnant women, paediatrics, adolescents and youth.
    • Promote and facilitate index testing and facilitate partner disclosure using the Index Screening Tool and actively refer for HTS.
    • Collaborate with Ward Based Outreach team and DoH Social Worker, Dietician, Lay Counsellors, and Clinicians for bi-lateral referrals.
    • Report as per agreed timelines to Professional at the facility or other Anova team members as required.
    • Be available to work on weekends &/ or Public Holidays to provide adherence counselling at DoH facilities when required, a minimum of at least one Saturday per month (When required).
    • Certificate in couple counselling, RTCQI, disclosure and paediatric consent an advantage.
    • Knowledge of DoH HTS guidelines & protocols.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as an HTS counsellor/ Adherence counsellor Adherence counsellor

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Grade 12 Certificate.
    • Training in Basic HAST, HIV Counselling, Adherence counselling
    • Certificate in couple counselling, RTCQI, disclosure and paediatric consent an advantage.
    • Knowledge of DoH HTS guidelines & protocols.

    Professional Nurse

    Job Description

    • The Ivan Toms Centre of Health has provided HIV and health services to Men who have sex with Men (MSM) in the Cape Town metro for over 14 years. We are looking for an energetic and dynamic NIMART Professional Nurse to be a part of nurse-led clinical services offered through the centre as well as its community-based mobile services teams.
       

    Provide Clinical Services to clients at the Ivan Toms Centre and its Community-Based Mobile Teams

    • Ensure all clinical service provision remains in line with national, provincial, and site-level guidelines.
    • Provide key population competent and sensitive care to all clients to ensure an enabling and welcoming environment.
    • Ensure clients are appropriately screened, counseled, and initiated onto ART or PrEP as required.
    • Maintain service points and spaces according to clinical guidelines including all COVID precautions.
    • Conduct quality assurance procedures to ensure NDOH guidelines and programme requirements are fully implemented.
       

    Engagement & Retention of Clients  

    • Maintain client engagement to support long-term retention in care.
    • Facilitate client referrals and confirmed linkage for supplemental care as required by site-level and project guidelines.
    • Work closely with project managers to ensure appropriate coverage of clinical services across all client access points.
       

    Provide Reports and Support to the Programme

    • Accurately record and collate patient-level data daily through established reporting and management systems.
    • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on HTS, ART and other facility activity report.
       

    Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.

     

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

    • Proven experience providing competent clinical care for men who have sex with men or other key populations is required.
    • Registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council
    • NIMART trained and certified as competent to work independently with at least two years’ experience is preferred.
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council is required.
    • Experience working in target-driven, PEPFAR-funded environment is strongly preferred.
    • Previous PrEP implementation and training is highly advantageous.
    • Willingness to provide clinical services in the facility as well as on community-based mobile units is required.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours as and when required.
    • Ability to work independently with strong patient triage skills.
    • Valid driver’s license and willing to travel as and when required.
    • Computer literate – MS Office (Outlook, word, excel & PowerPoint).
    • Ability and willingness to work with a wide variety of diverse team members and clients.
